Collins Injera and Lavin Asego named in Kenya's squad for the SportPesa Legends Cup 2025 return leg

Kenya 7s all-time top try scorer Collins Injera and skilled flyhalf Lavin Asego have been included in the Kenyan squad that will battle against Uganda for the SportPesa Legends Cup 2025 at the RFUEA Grounds on Saturday 27 September.

The two make a return to the squad having missed the first leg played at the Kyadondo Grounds in Kampala back in May 2025.

In that clash, the Kenya Legends walked away with a narrow and hard-fought 19-17 victory, maintaining their unbeaten streak against the Uganda Legends since the inception of the tournament.

Heading into the return leg, the Oscar Osir-coached side will be hoping to retain their crown for a third year in a row after successes in 2023 and 2024.

Eddie Omondi will captain the side that has retained 16 of the players who featured in the first leg including Joel Nganga, Oliver Tambo, Edwin Machanje, Steve Odhiambo, Peter Tyrell, Lewi Maina, Evans Musili, Tito Oduk, George Okowa, Felix Osiemo, Oliver Mangeni, Steve Ogada, Solomon Munyua, Tony Owuor and Vincent Mose.

Other new inclusions who missed the first leg include Victor Sudi, Sean Edwards and Frank Mutuku.
