- Popular artist Iyanii is set to perform at Kasarani Stadium ahead of the Kenya vs Seychelles 2026 World Cup Qualifiers clash on Tuesday afternoon.
- He will take the stage shortly before kickoff, with the match scheduled to begin at 4:00 PM EAT.
- The fixture is a dead rubber for the Benni McCarthy-led side, as they are already out of the race for next year’s World Cup.
Kenyans are in for an entertainment treat on the afternoon of Tuesday, September 9, as musician Iyanii will be energizing the Harambee Stars vs Seychelles 2026 World Cup Qualifiers clash at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.
Although this encounter is a dead rubber for Benni McCarthy’s charges who are already out of the running for a World Cup spot, Iyanii’s performance is part of the Football Kenya Federation’s broader plan to keep fans engaged and energized as they turn up to cheer on the national team at home.

Iyanii to perform as Harambee Stars face Seychelles
The Western-born superstar Ian Oure, known for his hit songs like “Pombe” and “Dojo Maber,” is expected to draw a crowd for this fixture. He will perform just before the 4:00 PM East Africa Time kickoff as Kenya seeks three points.
While the result won’t change their World Cup fate, a victory is not meaningless, as it will boost their FIFA World Ranking despite the earlier disqualification.

Kenya enters this match not only aiming for three points but also seeking redemption after falling massively last Friday in a 3-1 loss to The Gambia at the same venue.
The team will be looking to restore the smiles of disappointed supporters and uphold the nation’s standing on the continent, all while aiming to correct the mistakes from their previous outing.
They face a Seychelles side that has yet to taste victory in Group F, having lost all their prior matches.
Therefore, it will not be an easy contest, as The Pirates will also be seeking their first win and looking to upset the host nation.
The most recent encounter between the two teams was in November 2023 when the Harambee Stars secured a 5-0 victory.
Kenya vs Seychelles: Harambee Stars players urge fans not to lose faith after Gambia defeat

National team players Silvester Owino and Boniface Muchiri have asked Kenyans to turn out in large numbers to support them despite the disappointing result against Gambia, promising to make amends in the Seychelles match.
“Fans should not give up on us that early. We are going to make sure we get the positive results as needed, and it’s not just tomorrow; we will also ensure that we meet expectations in our other upcoming matches,” Owino told the media on Monday.
“Yes, the fans were disappointed with the result, but I’m urging them to come and support us because this is football. We gave our best that day, and we are ensuring we get a better result tomorrow and secure the win. They should come and support us because we need them,” Muchiri reiterated.
