In the tournament opener, Quins, eager to rebound from a disappointing sixth-place finish in last weekend’s Mombasa leg, made a strong statement with a 22-10 victory over Mombasa RFC in Group A.
Now under the leadership of Simon Ondongo, Quins aim to maintain their winning momentum as they prepare to face Kabete Stallions in their second match at 12:10 PM.

Meanwhile, the second Group A clash saw hosts Nakuru RFC edge out the Stallions 12-7.
Nakuru, who finished fourth at the Driftwood 7s, aim to surpass that performance with a confident start on home soil.
In Pool B, Menengai Oilers launched their campaign with a dominant 24-5 win over newly promoted Zetech Oaks who had topped Division II at the Driftwood 7s.
The Oilers will look to sustain this form as they take on Daystar Falcons in their second match, targeting a spot in the Cup quarterfinals after finishing fifth in Mombasa.

Elsewhere, Strathmore Leos the defending Prinsloo 7s champions and Driftwood finalists, also started on a high note, defeating fellow university side Daystar Falcons 26-5.
Falcons were without their star player Patrick Odongo who travelled to Monaco to play in the French 7s.
In Pool C, Nondies, who fell short in the 2024 Prinsloo 7s final, began this year’s edition with solid form, overpowering invitational side Kisumu RFC 22-7.
Kisumu, returning to the Sportpesa 7s circuit after missing the first leg, led at halftime, but Nondies staged a second-half comeback to secure the win as they look to improve on their seventh-place finish at the Driftwood 7s.
KCB Rugby, the overall series frontrunners after their Mombasa triumph, survived a spirited challenge from Catholic Monks, eventually winning 17-10.
In the second half, the Monks reduced the deficit to just two points before Samuel Asati, making his first appearance of the season, sealed the game and extended KCB’s unbeaten run in the 2025 circuit.
KCB are determined to bounce back from last year’s disappointment, where they failed to reach the Prinsloo 7s quarterfinals.
Meanwhile, in a tightly contested Group D opener, Mwamba RFC edged past MMUST with a narrow 14-12 victory.
Mwamba held their composure under pressure as they look to bounce back from a disappointing first leg, where they finished at the bottom of the standings with just one point.
Kabras Sugar, who placed third in the Mombasa leg, began their Prinsloo 7s campaign in emphatic fashion, defeating Impala RFC 24-5 in the final Round One match and the second Group D fixture, firmly asserting their dominance in the tournament.
