President William Ruto has promised to give the Harambee Stars squad a whopping Ksh 600 million if they win the CHAN 2024 tournament.
Ruto, who is an ardent football fan, made the pledge after visiting Harambee Stars at their residential camp in Kasarani.
The Kenyan President also vowed to give the team a colossal Ksh 70 million and 60 million if they reach the semi-final and the quarter-final of the CHAN 2024 respectively.

Harambee Stars to pocket millions for every win at CHAN 2024
In addition, Ruto, who played a crucial role to help Kenya bag the co-hosting rights of the CHAN 2024 and AFCON 2027, assured the Harambee Stars players that he will give each of them Ksh 1 million for every victory they will secure in the continental showpiece that is scheduled to kick-off at 8:00 PM East Africa Time (EAT) on Sunday, August 2.
Besides that, he told the Harambee Stars players that he will avail Ksh 500,000 to each member of national team for every draw they secure at CHAN 2024.
Harambee Stars have been pooled in Group A of the event that is being held for the first time in East Africa.

The Benni McCarthy coached side have been group alongside former champions Morocco and the DR Congo.
Zambia and Angola are also in the group that is considered by many as the group of death in the CHAN 2024 championship.
Harambee Stars will start their campaign on Sunday, August 3, 2025 against the two-time winners DR Congo.
The high-anticipated clash, which will take place at the refurbished Kasarani Stadium is planned to kick-off at 3:00 PM EAT.

President Ruto urges Harambee Stars players to make CHAN 2024 double historic
Speaking during the breakfast visit that was also attended by the Football Kenya Federation President Hussein Mohamed and Sports CS Salim Mvurya, Ruto promised the Harambee Stars camp that Kenyans will give them the needed support during their entire CHAN 2024 journey.
“This is a very historic moment for Kenya. It is the first time in the history of football that Kenya is hosting CHAN. We want to make it double historic. We want it not just to be the first time we are hosting CHAN, but also to be the first time that we win as Kenya.
“So, tomorrow until the 30th of this month at the finals, our party is Harambee Stars, all of us. All the other parties, let’s leave them for now. Our party is Harambee Stars, and our slogan is ‘Stars must win,’” he stated.

Should Harambee Stars goal all the way to the CHAN 2024 final, they will have the privilege of playing the game at the home soil since CAF recently confirmed that the last match shall take place at Kasarani Stadium.
