- The Prinsloo 7s quarterfinals take place on Sunday.
- KCB will face rivals Kabras as Leos take on Kenya Harlequin.
- Mwamba take on Monks while Oilers host Nakuru.
The quarterfinal matchups for the Prinsloo 7s 2025 have been confirmed following an action-packed opening day on Saturday August 2 where Kenya Harlequins, KCB Rugby and Menengai Oilers stormed through their respective pools unbeaten.
At the Nakuru Athletic Club, marking the second leg of the 2025 SportPesa National 7s Circuit, Kenya Harlequins topped Pool A and are set to clash with Strathmore Leos, who secured the runner-up spot in Pool B.
In the second quarterfinal clash, KCB Rugby, the overall series leaders, topped in Pool C and are set to battle Kabras Sugar, who narrowly claimed second place in Pool D after a fiercely contested group stage.

Meanwhile, Menengai Oilers, who conquered Pool B, will square off against regional rivals Nakuru RFC, the runners-up in Pool A.
Another intriguing fixture will see Mwamba RFC, one of the tournament’s surprise package, take on Catholic Monks, who finished second in Pool C.
Mwamba’s resurgence has been remarkable, bouncing back from a disappointing Driftwood 7s campaign where they failed to secure a single victory.

Round Three Recap
Kenya Harlequins sealed the top spot in Pool A by edging Nakuru RFC in a thrilling finale, avenging a narrow 19-17 defeat in the Driftwood 7s main Cup quarterfinal.
The Quins will now gear up to face defending champions Strathmore Leos, who fell 17-7 to Menengai Oilers despite a spirited second-half surge.
Meanwhile, Oilers are preparing for a fascinating all-Nakuru derby as they go head-to-head with Nakuru RFC, making this clash one of the most anticipated matchups of Sunday’s quarterfinals.
In Pool D, Impala RFC dashed Mwamba’s hopes of an unbeaten run with a hard-fought 14-10 victory.
However, Mwamba’s two earlier wins secured their place in the Cup quarterfinals, where they will confront Catholic Monks.
Mwamba wins marks one of the most impressive turnarounds of the tournament. After failing to register a single win at last weekend’s Driftwood 7s, Lavin Asego’s charges have roared back into contention.

In contrast, Nondescripts RFC narrowly missed a quarterfinal berth after suffering a crushing 52-0 defeat to a dominant KCB Rugby side. KCB not only maintained a perfect group stage run but also posted the highest score of the day.
KCB will now face Kabras Sugar, who clinched second place in a fiercely contested Pool D after narrowly edging out Impala RFC and MMUST, with their decisive 25-5 victory over the latter proving crucial.
