The focus of running stakeholders shifts to the Sydney Marathon 2025 where the city is set to debut on the prestigious Abbot World Marathon Majors circuit in a few weeks’ time.
One of the main attractions in the Sydney Marathon 2025 that will be held on Sunday, August 31 is the legendary Kenyan athlete Eliud Kipchoge.
Kipchoge, who has had a remarkable career, will be running at the Sydney Marathon for the first time ever.

He is currently finalizing his preparations for the race where he is one of the favorites to bag the coveted title.
Adding to the excitement that is building up ahead of the historic race, top Australian diplomats have paid a visit to Kipchoge’s training camp.

According to Kipchoge, they had discussions with the team that was led by the Australian High Commissioner to Kenya Jenny Da Rin.
“It was a pleasure to welcome the Australian High Commissioner Ms. Jenny Da Rin and Deputy High Commissioner Mr. Chris Ellinger, to our training camp here in Kaptagat.
We shared and compared the values of our camp with those of Australia. It’s only a month until I visit Australia for the first time in my life, I can’t wait,” he stated.

At the Sydney Marathon 2025, Kipchoge will fight for the title with a deep field that has several Kenyans and Ethiopians.
Some of these stars are Dawit Wolde (Ethiopia), Kenneth Kipkemoi (Kenya), and Bernard Koech (Kenya).

The quartet of Cornelius Kibet Kiplagat (Kenya), Laban Korir (Kenya), Edward Cheserek (Kenya), and Mulugeta Asefa (Ethiopia) will also be in contention.
