- Four teams advanced to the Cup quarterfinals unbeaten: Kenya Harlequins, Kabras Sugar, KCB, and Strathmore Leos.
- Defending champions Kenya Harlequins, who topped Pool A, will face Nakuru RFC in the quarterfinals.
The SportPesa National Sevens Circuit 2025 first leg, the Driftwood 7s, has confirmed the quarterfinal pairings following a successful opening day of the tournament staged at the Mombasa Sports Club on Saturday, July 26.
Defending champions Kenya Harlequins, who topped Pool A, will clash with Nakuru RFC in the quarterfinals.
Meanwhile, Strathmore Leos from Group D are set to battle Nondescript RFC.
Kabras Sugar has been drawn against MMUST, while Menengai Oilers will go head-to-head with KCB.

SportPesa 7s division one results
The top division was divided into four pool: A, B, C, and D each comprising four teams. Every team faced the others in their group across three rounds.
Pool A
Pool A featured Kenya Harlequins, MMUST, K Blak Blad, and Mwamba RFC.
Kenya Harlequins emerged as the group leaders, clinching all three victories. They edged past Blak Blad 14-7 in their opener, overwhelmed Mwamba with a 17-0 shutout, and completely dismantled MMUST 45-0 in their final match.

MMUST secured second place after two wins narrowly overcoming Mwamba 14-10 and defeating fellow university side Blak Blad 14-7.
Mwamba, unfortunately, failed to register a single victory, with their closest effort being a narrow 14-12 loss to Blak Blad.

Pool B
This pool included reigning Kenya Cup champions Kabras Sugar, Catholic Monks, Impala RFC, and Nakuru RFC.
Kabras were dominant throughout, winning all three matches in convincing fashion. They thrashed Nakuru 26-0 in their opener, dispatched Impala 21-7, and closed with a commanding 29-0 triumph over Monks.
Nakuru rebounded from their initial defeat to win the next two fixtures blanking Monks 24-0 and edging out Impala 12-7.
Impala, coached by Kenya Sevens assistant Louis Kisia, failed to register a single win. The Monks’ lone victory came via a 17-0 win against Impala.

Pool C
Pool C comprised KCB, Nondies, Daystar Falcons, and hosts Mombasa RFC.
KCB, bolstered by new signings like George Ooro from Strathmore Leos, were untouchable.
They kicked off with a 24-14 win over Falcons, smashed hosts Mombasa 43-0, and concluded by dismantling Nondies 45-0.
Nondies claimed second place after dispatching Mombasa 19-0 and narrowly edging Falcons 10-7.
Daystar managed a solitary win 26-7 over Mombasa while the hosts ended the group stage without a point.

Pool D
This group featured Kenyan rugby heavyweights Menengai Oilers, Strathmore Leos, Kabarak University, and Stallions Rugby.
Strathmore Leos dominated Pool D, qualifying for the quarterfinals with an impeccable record.
They opened with a 28-0 rout of Kabarak, crushed Stallions 26-0, and sealed the group with a hard-fought 14-5 win over the Oilers.
Menengai Oilers finished second after registering two wins: a 19-0 whitewash of Stallions and a tight 19-14 victory over Kabarak.
Kabarak lost all three matches, including a 26-0 defeat to Stallions.
