As the SportPesa National 7s Circuit 2025 gets underway in Mombasa, several players will get the chance to showcase what they are made of as teams battle for national glory across five towns from July to September.
Additionally, the players will have the chance to put a strong case for themselves when it comes to being considered for selection to the national 7s teams that have booked their place in the newly introduced HSBC SVNS Division 2 in the upcoming 2026 season.
Ahead of the six-legged outing, SportPesa Blog takes a look at five players to keep a close eye on when it comes to the 2025 edition.
Jackson Siketi
At only 18 years, Siketi has already cemented his place as one of the most exciting youngsters to watch in the Kenyan rugby scene.
The Kabras Sugar RFC ace has already gotten a call-up to the men’s national 7s team, Shujaa, and it will be interesting to see how he takes on the challenge of a second 7s campaign.
The Koyonzo Secondary School alumni heads into the 2025 SportPesa 7s riding on confidence after being crowned Young Player of the Tournament at the 2025 Rugby Africa Men’s 7s Cup that took place in Madagascar, where Kenya finished in fourth place.
Last year, he played a crucial role in helping Kabras Sugar win their first-ever Dala 7s title after being named the Most Valuable Player in the lakeside tournament.
He scored a brace in the semifinals before bagging a hat-trick in the main cup final, leading Kabras to glory.

Dewald Lucky
The diminutive Kenya Harlequin scrumhalf, popularly referred to as the Kenyan Antoine Dupont, was arguably one of the most consistent players in the 2024 SportPesa 7s Circuit.
His determination was crucial as Quins ended their 12-year overall title drought and many felt his performances deserved at least a call-up to the national team.
However, it was not to be and it remains to be seen whether he can replicate the performances in the new season.

Clinton Amukwachi
The Daystar Falcons youngster saw his efforts getting noticed by the national team coaches after being invited to train with the Kenya Morans ahead of the 2025 Rugby Africa Men’s 7s.
Despite not making the final squad, the recognition was a reward to his performances in the 2024 season that saw him rack up 14 tries in three outings.
With strong carries a big part of his game, the imposing youngster has all it takes to build on that performance and build forward.

Stephen Osumba
Fresh from his return to KCB from Strathmore Leos, Zola will have all eyes on him as the Bankers begin their hunt a title after going trophyless the whole of last season.
The vision and creativity of the fly half will be key as the Dennis Mwanja-coached side plot revenge from the get-go.
Lawrence Ndungu
Ndungu was instrumental as Stallions Rugby finished the season as one of the top 12 teams in the SportPesa 7s 2024 campaign.
While his performances were under the radar, his creativity kept delivering for Stallions.
It remains to be seen how he will pick up from his impressive 2024 campaign.
