As the 2024-2025 FKF Premier League comes to a conclusion on Sunday, June 22, the relegation battle promises a captivating conclusion.
Several clubs including SportPesa sponsored side Murang’a SEAL, Bidco United, Nairobi City Stars, Posta Rangers and FC Talanta enter the last FKF Premier League fixtures with their destinies intertwined.
Besides the five clubs, the likes of Ulinzi Stars, Mara Sugar and Kariobangi Sharks are also not entirely safe from the FKF Premier League relegation battle.

While some of these clubs such as Murang’a SEAL and Nairobi City Stars need wins in their matches in order to survive the axe, others will be checking goal-differences of the other sides in order to see if they are relegated.
The main attraction of the day is expected to be the Murang’a SEAL vs FC Talanta clash that is scheduled to be staged at the SportPesa Arena in Murang’a County.
Murang’a SEAL, who occupy the 17th position in the FKF Premier League standings with 34 points, one less than FC Talanta, need a victory against Talanta to stand a chance of playing in Kenya’s top tier next season.
On the other hand, a draw for FC Talanta could not even help them to avoid relegation because only a single point separates them from Nairobi City Stars and Mara Sugar, who sit at position 16 and 13 respectively in the log.
Speaking ahead of the clash against Murang’a SEAL, FC Talanta striker Emmanuel Osoro stated that they will do their best to avoid being relegated.
“It matters a lot especially to the team. It is a very crucial game and it is the most important game in all the matches that we have played this season.
Therefore, that is a game where we need to work harder to get good results. Our focus is to win that game. We are training hard to win that game because even a draw can’t help us,” he told SportPesa Blog.
Apart from trying to save FC Talanta from relegation, Osoro will also be aiming to win the prestigious FKF Premier League golden boot award.
The talented forward sits second in the top scorers chart at the moment with 16 points, one fewer than Kakamega Homeboyz’ Moses Shumah.
Meanwhile, Nairobi City Stars will lock horns with Mathare United at the Thika Stadium while Mara Sugar are set to play a tricky Kariobangi Sharks side.
The bottom place Bidco United, who have collected 32 points so far this season, will end their 2024-2025 FKF Premier League campaign with a tough fixture against Sofapaka FC while Posta Rangers and Ulinzi Stars will square it out with Bandari FC and Shabana FC respectively.
