The Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) announced a dynamic Malkia Strikers provisional squad for the 2025 FIVB World Championships that is set to take place between August 22 and September 7 in Thailand.
The new look Malkia Strikers team is made up of many emerging players particularly those who performed well in the just ended KVF National league.
Some of these stars include the KCB quartet of Marlyn Tata, Frida Boke, Sharleen Maywa and Juliana Namutira.

Key players included in Malkia Strikers provisional squad
The Malkia Strikers technical bench led by head coach Geoffrey Omondi decided to blend a few experienced and upcoming players in the team.
Gladys Ekaru, who has had a good season with KCB, Belinda Barasa, Lorine Kaei, Lydia Emokol, Elizabeth Sokoiyo and Pauline Chemutai will fight for the middle blockers slots in the team.
On the other hand, the technical bench has picked Emmaculate Nekesa, Marcleen Okoko, Vallarie Chepkoech, Vivian Vuguza and Boke as setters while the likes of Peninah Wafula and Celestine Nyongesa are in contention for the final Libero positions.
Some of the notable outside hitters in the Malkia Strikers provisional squad are Veronicah Adhiambo, Meldina Sande and Daisy Letting.

Meanwhile, seasoned Malkia Strikers players like Trizah Atuka, Agripina Kundu and Sharon Chepchumba have been left out.
This selection, which has received mixed reactions from the Malkia Strikers supporters, indicates a fresh chapter for Kenya.
Malkia Strikers, who have been grouped in Pool G alongside Germany, Vietnam and Poland, are expected to report to camp in the coming days.
