The 2022 Commonwealth Games 5000m champion made her training program public in a recent interview.

As stated by Chebet, she usually runs over 170 kilometers every week and also engages in other exercises.

“As a track athlete, I normally do 170km and 180km per week and a normal workout for track. I do speed work of course,” she divulged.

When asked whether she intends to switch to the marathon, Chebet stated that it could happen in the near future.

“As a long distance runner, I have to move but it takes time. We go step by step. Maybe in the next few years, I will try 10K, try half and then I will go to the marathon. That’s how I need to progress,” commented the woman who has won multiple World Athletics Championships Cross Country titles.

Should Chebet venture into the marathon, she will join a huge list of other Kenyan stars including Eliud Kipchoge, Vivian Cheruiyot and Hellen Obiri who made a similar move in the past.
