Kenyan runner Nelly Chepchirchir escaped with the 2025 Doha Diamond League title on Friday night, May 16.
Chepchirchir, who was part of the Kenya’s team that took part in Paris Olympic Games, triumphed in an impressive time of 4:05.00.
The time that Chepchirchir clocked in Doha was the fourth fastest time in the world this season.
The Kapsabet-based athlete was followed by her compatriot Susan Ejore and Great Britain’s Jemma Reekie.

Ejore, who is based in the United States crossed the finishing line in a time of 4:06.27 while Reekie stopped the stop watch at 4:07.33.
Tebogo escapes with the 200m title
In other races, Botswana’s Letsile Tebogo narrowly edged American sprinter Courtney Lindsey to win the 200m title.
Tebogo, who won Africa’s first ever Olympic Games title over the distance in Paris, finished the race in a time of 20.10 seconds.
On the other hand Lindsey clocked 20.11 seconds to beat Liberia’s Joseph Fahnbulleh to the second position.
India’s Neeraj Chopra breaks the 90m barrier
Finally, India’s Neeraj Chopra reached an incredible milestone in his career after achieving a draw of 90.23m. Chopra’s throw was the third best ever in Asia’s history.
However, the huge throw was not enough for him to win the 2025 Doha Diamond League title since Julian Weber managed a monstrous mark of 91.06m.
