Sunday’s headline clash will take place at Moi Stadium in Kisumu, where two Kenya Premier League sides go head-to-head as Kakamega Homeboyz host the in-form Shabana FC at 3:00 PM.

Shabana, enjoying an impressive run in the league, thrashed Platech FC 5-1 in the round of 32 to advance.

They remain unbeaten in their last seven league matches a red-hot streak that sees them in fourth place with 40 points, just nine behind league leaders Kenya Police.

The Peter Okidi side will head into this tie brimming with confidence after a 3-1 triumph over Bandari last weekend at the Gusii Stadium.

On the other side, Cup 2023 defending champions Kakamega Homeboyz earned their spot in this round with a narrow 1-0 win over Simitsi. Under head coach Francis Baraza, they currently sit sixth in the league standings with 38 points.

They wil enter Sunday’s encounter buoyed by a vital 2-1 win over AFC Leopards at Dandora in their previous outing.

Homeboyz will also be eyeing redemption, having suffered a heavy 1-4 defeat to Shabana at the Gusii Stadium just last month, fueling expectations for a fiery rematch as both sides vie for a coveted quarterfinal berth.

Double-header in Machakos

Back in Machakos, fans at the Kenyatta Stadium can look forward to a double treat. At 1:00 PM, defending FKF Cup champions and current league leaders Kenya Police FC face off against Kapenguria United.

With their eyes set on a potential double, both league and cup titles, the disciplined Police squad cannot afford any missteps at this stage.
