Gor Mahia FC stakeholders are set to undertake an essential exercise for the club on Sunday, April 13 as they determine the next group of leaders who will take them to the next level.
The highly anticipated elections, which attracted many aspirants including long serving chairman Ambrose Rachier, is scheduled to take place at the Nyayo National Stadium Basketball Court.

Famous Radio Jambo presenter Joseph Okidi, also known as Gidi Gidi, was previously among the candidates in the Gor Mahia elections.
Joseph Okidi withdraws from Gor Mahia elections
However, he withdrew on Friday before the club released the list of contestants that have been cleared to take part in the elections.
Okidi, who was in the race for the Secretary General position, said he will explain the reason why he pulled out of the race after the conclusion of the elections.
“I, Joseph Okidi, wish to officially announce my withdrawal from the race for the position of Secretary General at Gor Mahia Football club. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I find it necessary to step aside at this time.
Out of respect for the ongoing electoral process and in full adherence to the court directive regarding the scheduled elections, I will refrain from providing detailed commentary on the reasons behind my withdrawal until after the election period has concluded,” Okidi’s statement read in part.

The presenter added that his commitment to Gor Mahia and its supporters around the world remains steadfast.
Okidi was expected to battle it out with the likes of Sam Ocholla and Nicanor Ombwayo Arum for the influential seat.
Gor Mahia election board releases list of cleared candidates
A day after the withdrawal of Okidi, the Gor Mahia FC electoral board announced all the candidates that have been cleared for the elections.
“This is to inform you that Gor Mahia Football Club Election Board received applications for consideration and clearance to contest the four (4) vacant positions in the management of Gor Mahia Football Club.
After a thorough scrutiny and review, the Electoral Board cleared the following candidates to contest in forthcoming elections,” the press release read.
According to the communique, Ambrose Rachier and Dolfina Achieng Odhiambo have been given the go ahead to vie for the chairperson position while Sally Bolo and Victor Ouma Omondi will compete for the Vice-chairperson seat.
Meanwhile, Arum and Ocholla are the only contestants for the Secretary position with Dalmas Phillip Nyakwana and Gerphas Okuku Ogolla being cleared for the honorary treasurer post.
