- Shujaa have been beaten 12-07 by Great Britain in their second Pool C match at the Hong Kong 7s.

The Kenya national sevens rugby team popularly known as Shujaa suffered a narrow 12-07 defeat in the hands of Great Britain in the ongoing Hong Kong 7s.
Shujaa were the first ones to break the deadlock via the speedy Patrick Odongo, who broke away from the Great Britain players before scoring a try near to the post.
Nygel Amaitsa made a successful conversion to give the East Africans a well deserved 7-0 lead.

However, Great Britain managed to fight back to put the score level in the first half after the Kenyan backline failed to stay alert.
In the second half, Shujaa made a couple of mistakes particularly from Dennis Abukuse which allowed their opponents to score their second try of the game and in the end registered a 12-07 victory.
Shujaa destroy Spain in Hong Kong 7s Pool C opener
Earlier in the day, Shujaa secured a commanding 19-00 win over Spain in their opening Pool C fixture.

The Kevin “Bling” Wambua coached side scored their tries through Odongo, George Ooro, and Samuel Asati.

Odongo, who missed several matches for Shujaa in the Vancouver 7s, was unplayable in that encounter as his pace caused the Spaniards a lot of problems.
Up next for Shujaa is a mouthwatering clash against European heavyweights France scheduled to take place on Saturday at 5:16 AM.
Shujaa’s Pool C rankings at Hong Kong 7s
Friday’s performances ensured Shujaa occupied the second position in Pool C with four points, two behind leaders Great Britain.
The latter has already booked a ticket to the main cup quarterfinals with one game to spare.

On the other hand, France, who are yet to pick up a win, occupy the bottom position in the pool after being hammered 19-12 and 12-07 by Spain and Great Britain respectively.
Kenyans have a lot of expectations on Shujaa in their upcoming match against France where a win will guarantee them a place in the quarterfinals.
Nonetheless, should Shujaa fail to overcome France, they just need to finish inside the top three positions to play in the last eight.
