The men’s national rugby 7s team, Shujaa, will be hoping for a much-improved performance when they take part in the upcoming Hong Kong 7s scheduled to take place from 28-30 March 2025.
In the event that will mark the fifth outing of the HSBC SVNS Series 2025, the Kevin Wambua-coached side landed a slightly favourable draw where they will face in-form Spain, Great Britain and reigning Olympic champions France in Pool C.
The group will however not be as easy as it may seem as Spain have reached the semifinals in each of the four tournaments so far played in the season.

France on their part is in fifth place in the standings on 46 points. Great Britain are the closest to Kenya in terms of position on the table as they sit in eighth spot on 32 points while Kenya is ninth on 15 points.
Shujaa will be heading into the tournament following a disappointing outing in the just concluded Vancouver 7s where they finished bottom of the pile after losing all their matches in the group stage and placement playoffs.
The result in Canada saw Shujaa collect only one point, leaving them deep in the automatic/relegation territory.
Elsewhere, HSBC Vancouver SVNS Winners Argentina were drawn against Fiji, Ireland and USA in Pool A while South Africa will encounter Australia, New Zealand and Uruguay in Pool B.
In the women’s category, reigning Olympic Champions New Zealand were drawn in Pool A against Brazil, China and USA. Pool B will see Fiji up against France, Great Britain and Ireland.
Australia face Canada, Japan and Spain in Pool D.
