Kabras Sugar once again demonstrated their dominance in the Kenyan rugby scene, edging out KCB RFC 25-21 in a fiercely contested semifinal of the Enterprise Cup, held at the ASK Showground in Kakamega County on Saturday afternoon.

The Millers’ victory not only secures their fifth consecutive appearance in the Enterprise Cup finals, but also marks their second triumph over the Bankers within a week.

This came after they had already defeated KCB in the Kenya Cup regular-season final match at the same venue last weekend.

In addition, Carlos Katywa’s side has extended their unbeaten streak to an impressive 40 matches, remaining invincible since their 28-20 loss to KCB on February 26, 2022, during the Kenya Cup regular season.

On the other hand, KCB was unable to break Kabras’ dominance, falling to them for the sixth consecutive time.

Theirr hopes of securing a double this season were dashed, even though they remain in the Kenya Cup semifinals, with a chance to claim that title.

This was the first semifinal between the two in the tournament and it started with the visitors taking an early lead, as KCB was awarded a penalty which Austin Sikutwa converted, putting them ahead 3-0.

However, Kabras responded swiftly, with speedster Griffin Chao darting over the line to give the Millers five points, followed by a successful conversion from Ntabeni Dukisa for a 7-3 lead.

In a back-and-forth game, KCB regained the lead with an Andy Cole try, although the conversion failed. They went ahead by a slim margin of 8-7.

Kabras, however, remained composed, and a drop goal from Levy Amunga saw them reclaim the lead at 11-8.

Griffin Chao then scored his second try, although the conversion was unsuccessful, and Kabras regained the lead at 12-11.
