A brace from Mohammed Bajaber and a clinical header from Burundian import David Irishura helped Kenya Police go back to the top of the 24/25 Football Kenya Federation Premier League table after a 3-1 victory over Murang’a Seal in a Saturday encounter staged at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
Having ceded top spot to Tusker following a shock loss to Mathare United and a draw against AFC Leopards, Kenya Police managed to get back to winning ways with the emphatic victory heaping more pressure on relegation-threatend Murang’a Seal whose winless streak extended to nine matches (3D 6L).
While the encounter got off to a slow start with nothing meaningful to write home about, Police found themselves handed a chance to get into the driver’s seat with the referee pointing to the penalty spot after an alleged handball offense.

Despite much protests from Murang’a Seal, the decision was upheld and Bajaber stepped up to give the law administrators the lead after sending Morgan Ambuka the wrong way.
With momentum on their side, one would soom turn to two seven minutes to the break as Irishura cleverly read Abud Omar’s inch-perfect free kick to glance the ball into the back of the net.
Against the run of play, Victor Haki handed Murang’a Seal the lifeline when he found himself in the right place to poke the ball into the back of the net after Police failed to clear their lines a minute into the interval.
That goal appeared to have pumped some wind in the sails of Murang’a Seal as they came out for the second half a much more reinvigorated side.
Their efforts however could not just produce the final product in front of goal when needed the most and that lack of finishing edge came to haunt them in the 70th minute when Bajaber netted his brace.
The former City Stars sharply picked the ball and fired into the roof as if showing Murang’a Seal what they ought to have done in a goal that sealed all three points.
