• Posta Rangers secured a 2-1 win over Shabana FC.
  • The match between KCB FC and Murang’a Seal ended 2-0.
  • The two clashes were staged at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos County.

SportPesa sponsored clubs Shabana FC and Murang’a Seal had a bad day in office on Sunday in the 24/25 Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL).

Shabana suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Posta Rangers who are fighting for survival in the competitive league.

The Kisii-based side were the first ones to open the scoring in the 28th minute of the encounter via Dennis Okoth who received a delicious pass from Justine Omwando before chipping it over charging Posta Rangers goalkeeper John Samuel Njau.

However, Rangers, coached by former Shabana FC tactician Sammy “Pamzo” Omollo, managed to find an equalizer with two minutes remaining to the break when Mwinyi Shami outclassed Shabana defenders before firing a low shot past their diving custodian Maxwell Muchesia.

At the start of the second half, Shabana head coach Peter Okidi made two changes with the aim of getting more control of the game. He replaced Sam Kintu and Kevin Omundi with new signing Keith Imbali and Derick Oketch respectively.

Nevertheless, the decision did not yield the expected results as Shabana found themselves trailing their opponents 2-1 in the 52nd minute. Curtis Wekesa hit the back of the net from close range after Muchesia failed to deal well with his first shot.

Although Shabana did their best to try to get something from the game that was played at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos County, the hosts managed to hold on to their narrow lead and in the end secured the much needed three points.

The win increased Posta Rangers’ tally to 20 points and helped them climb from the bottom position to number 15, overtaking Bidco United, Nairobi City Stars and FC Talanta in the process.
