Kariobangi Sharks head coach William Muluya has commended Shabana FC fans for filling the stadium and energizing the matches in the Football Kenya Federation league.

On Sunday afternoon, February 2, the Gusii Stadium was packed to capacity as Kariobangi Sharks played to a 0-0 draw against Shabana in their second-leg fixture of the season.

In addition to earning a point from the match, the Kisii-based team also reaped substantial profits from gate receipts, accumulating a remarkable KSH 1,279,100, making them one of the top clubs generating significant revenue in the top-flight league.

Although they did not secure the full three points away, Sharks’ head coach William Muluya lauded the turnout at the Gusii Stadium, emphasizing that this is exactly what Kenyan football needs, as it creates a vibrant atmosphere for the players.

“First, let me begin by acknowledging the atmosphere here at Gusii. This is exactly what Kenyan football needs,” Muluya remarked after the match.

“When you observe the turnout and the energy the fans bring to the stadium, there’s an undeniable excitement that elevates the game. It’s far different from playing in front of an empty stadium. I believe this is a positive development for the sport.”
