The Kenya Cup 24/25 season resumes action on Saturday, January 11 following a four-week break with six exciting fixtures on the cards.
One of the most anticipated matches in the Kenya Cup is the Nakuru Derby which will feature Nakuru RFC against Menengai Oilers at the Nakuru Athletic Club at 4:00 EAT.
Menengai Oilers have been in impressive form this season, remaining unbeaten after three matches as they sit comfortably in third place with 15 points.

Gibson Weru’s charges began their campaign with a resounding 76-13 victory over Kisumu RFC. In week two, they overcame Strathmore Leos 08-38 and concluded the year with an authoritative 94-9 win over Mwamba RFC.
In contrast, Simon Warioki’s Nakuru RFC has struggled this season, failing to secure a single victory and currently sitting in ninth place on the log.
They were defeated 27-5 by KU Blak Blad in their opener, followed by a 0-17 loss to Kenya Harlequins. Their final match of the year saw them succumb to Nondies, losing 24-8.
Despite Nakuru RFC’s challenging season, this derby promises to deliver a thrilling spectacle for Nakuru-based fans. The teams have faced off seven times in the past, with Menengai Oilers securing four victories and Nakuru RFC winning three. Last season, Menengai Oilers narrowly triumphed 19-8.

Meanwhile, at the RFUEA Grounds, another fierce rivalry will unfold in the Ngong Road Derby where Kenya Harlequins will face Impala RFC at 4:00 PM EAT.
This rivalry promises to be nothing short of captivating as the fourth-placed Quins look to solidify their position in the top four, while Impala, who have won only one match this season, will be eager to prove themselves as they meet the Quins for the first time since their return from the championship.
Prior to the derby, the action kicks off with a highly anticipated clash between second-placed KCB and a resolute Mwamba RFC.
Oliver Mang’eni’s KCB will aim to maintain their momentum as they chase the title while Mark Mshila’s Mwamba charges will be desperate to secure their first win of the season.
Mwamba has strengthened their squad during the midseason transfer window and will be hopeful for an improved performance, while KCB made only a few adjustments.
