Tusker FC assistant head coach George Maina has hinted that their next midweek fixture against AFC Leopards will be a challenging one, but the team is fully prepared to face them.
Tusker is riding on positive momentum from their recent strong performances, having secured their fourth consecutive win over the weekend with a 2-0 victory against Mathare United at the SportPesa Arena on Saturday.
Prior to that, they secured a 1-0 win against Nairobi City Stars, a 2-1 triumph over Mara Sugar and a 3-1 victory over Murang’a Seal 3-1.
Charles Okere’s side is just two points behind league leaders KCB after six wins, three draws, and two losses, with a game in hand against Bandari FC.

As they prepare for their crucial midweek match on Wednesday December 11, when they will be hosted by Ingwe at the Dandora Stadium, George Maina emphasized that the technical team is focusing on ensuring that the players do not concede more goals, as this will build their confidence heading into the next fixture.
“We have been conceding so many goals of late, and now that’s what we are trying to work on, especially coming up with a clean sheet because it will give us confidence going into the next game, a very tough game,” Maina told the club media after the Mathare match.

The 13-time Premier League champions have conceded 13 goals this season and have scored 20.
The former Naivas FC head coach expressed concern that their match against Fred Ambani’s side would be a tough one, as they possess both experienced players and promising young talent, making them a formidable opponent.
“It is a very tough one. We will only rest tomorrow (Sunday), then start on Monday preparing for AFC Leopards, a very tough team with good players, experienced mixed with young players,” he added. “But I say we are tackling each game at a time, and for AFC Leopards, we are ready for them.”
Additionally, Maina praised Mathare United’s Kevin Kimani, who was introduced in the second half, describing him as a highly skilled and experienced player who would undoubtedly make life difficult for his team.
“Mathare United came strong in the second half introducing Kimani, who is very experienced and a good player, and he has a lot of experience in the team,” he said.
Tusker will face AFC Leopards, who were held to a 1-1 draw against Kakamega Homeboyz on Saturday.
