- The Safari 7s 2024 will be held from 11-13 at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.

Defending champions Shujaa and Uganda Lady Cranes are among the teams which are set to light up the stage.
The Kenya 7s rugby team, Shujaa, will be hoping to defend their Safari 7s title when the 2024 edition of the tournament takes place from 11-13 October at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos County.
The event which will be held outside Nairobi for the first time this year has drawn ten men’s teams from across the globe with another five set to take part in the women’s category.
Defending champions Shujaa and Uganda Lady Cranes are among the teams which are set to light up the stage.

Shujaa have been placed in Group A where they will face Zimbabwe, Lions Rugby, Qatar, and a Varsity Select squad.
Group B will feature a tougher competition led by Uganda alongside 2024 SportPesa 7s National Circuit winners Kenya Harlequins, Shogun, Morans and Red Wailers.
In the women’s category, Kenya Lionesses will battle against Shogun, Uganda Cranes, Kenya Cubs and a Uganda select team in a round-robin format.
Speaking ahead of the event, Uganda Lady Cranes head coach Charles Onen divulged that they will use Safari 7s to gauge their performance.

“We are excited about the competition and our preparations. The players have worked hard, and we are using this opportunity to test new combinations and continue our growth as we aim for success in the Africa women’s sevens next year,” he was quoted by Chimpresports.
Uganda Lady Cranes won last year’s edition after narrowly edging out Kenya Lionesses 15-12 in an entertaining match played at the RFUEA Grounds.
In the fixtures lined up for Friday, Shujaa will begin their campaign against Lions Rugby in the last match of the day.
Meanwhile, Morans will take on Red Wailers while the Varsity Select team will square it out with Zimbabwe.
