Morans hand Fast Forward 7s first defeat
Kenya Morans delivered a dominant first-half display to establish a commanding lead before holding off a late response from SportPesa Fast Forward 7s to seal a 38-15 win.
Dennis Ndayala opened the scoring for the Morans after receiving an offload from Mathias Osimbo, with Mike Lukusi converting to give the Kenyan side a 7-0 lead.
Osimbo then got on the scoresheet himself, capitalising on a quick attacking move to touch down for the Morans’ second try. Lukusi missed the conversion, leaving the score at 12-0.

The Morans continued to exploit gaps in the opposition defence, with Stanislaus Shikoli crossing the whitewash for another try. Lukusi added the extras to stretch the advantage to 19-0.
Lucky Onyango’s blistering pace on the wing proved too much for the Fast Forward defence as he raced over for the fourth try. Lukusi converted to push the score to 26-0.
Onyango grabbed his second try of the contest after Lukusi created the opportunity with a clever step and offload, extending the Morans’ lead to 31-0.
SportPesa Fast Forward 7s eventually got on the scoreboard through Ricardo, who crossed for an unconverted try to make it 31-5.
However, Morans captain Clinton Amukwachi restored his side’s momentum with another try, which Lukusi converted to take the score to 38-5.
Fast Forward mounted a late fightback, adding two more tries to reduce the deficit to 38-15, with Reagan Bossman among the scorers. Their efforts, however, came too late to prevent defeat.
The result marked a significant setback for Fast Forward 7s, who had negotiated the pool stage without a loss but were unable to maintain that momentum against a clinical Morans side.
Shujaa run riot against Wonder 7s

Kenya Shujaa also booked their semifinal place in emphatic fashion, overwhelming Wonder Sevens 54-5 in a one-sided quarterfinal.
Victor Odhiambo set the tone with the opening try, with Rayvon Ambale adding the conversion for a 7-0 lead.
Odhiambo struck again moments later after Elvis Olukusi released him into space, allowing the Shujaa speedster to race over for his second try. Ambale converted to make it 14-0.
Wonder Sevens responded through Roy Maruti, who crossed the try line to reduce the deficit to 14-5. However, Shujaa quickly regained control as Odhiambo completed his hat-trick, with Ambale adding the conversion for a 21-5 advantage.
Olukusi then added his name to the scoresheet, and another successful conversion sent Shujaa into the break with a commanding 28-5 lead.
The Kenyan side resumed the second half with the same attacking intent. Nygel Amaitsa crossed for another try before Ambale converted to extend the advantage to 35-5.
John Okoth then linked up with his clubmate Glacious Owino, who finished the move with another try. Ambale was again on target with the conversion as Shujaa moved further ahead at 42-5.
Olukusi added his second try of the match after stepping past the Wonder Sevens defenders, taking the score to 47-5.
Owino completed the rout with a pick-and-go finish near the try line, powering through to touch down and bring the score to 52-5 before Ambale converted to seal the 54-5 victory.
Shujaa’s attacking efficiency and ability to exploit space proved decisive, with Odhiambo’s first-half hat-trick helping lay the foundation for a convincing win.
French Renegades, Shogun complete semifinal lineup

French Renegades secured their place in the semifinals after edging Zimbabwe 17-12 in a closely contested encounter.
