Minnows NYS Spade shock circuit with Driftwood 7s in cup quarterfinals as Uganda 7s set to face Kabras

Heavyweights Kabras Sugar, circuit leaders KCB Rugby, and Menengai Oilers asserted their authority on Day One of the 2026 Driftwood 7s at the Mombasa Sports Club, comfortably booking their spots in Sunday’s Main Cup quarter-finals alongside their respective pool runners-up.

However, the headline story belonged to minnows NYS Spades, who stunned the National Sevens Circuit by finishing unbeaten to top Pool D.
