Kabras Sugar RFC will head into the third round of the 2026 Sportpesa National 7s Circuit as the team to beat after establishing a healthy lead at the top of the standings following the opening two legs.
The Kakamega-based side has accumulated 41 points from the Prinsloo 7s and Dala 7s, putting them six points clear of defending Kabeberi 7s champions KCB Rugby, who are second on 35 points.
Kabras made a strong start to the campaign at the Prinsloo 7s, collecting 19 points after finishing runners-up. They then raised their game in Kisumu, going all the way at the Dala 7s to claim the title and add 22 points to their tally.

Their consistency across the two legs has given Kabras an early advantage as the circuit moves to Nairobi, although the chasing pack remains within touching distance.
KCB Rugby remain firmly in the title conversation despite a disappointing Dala 7s outing. The Bankers opened their campaign in style by winning the Prinsloo 7s and taking 22 points.
However, their run in Kisumu ended at the Cup quarter-final stage after a defeat to Kenya Harlequin, leaving them with 13 points from the second leg.
Harlequin have also emerged as serious contenders. They occupy third position on 30 points after collecting 15 points at each of the first two tournaments. Their Dala campaign was particularly impressive, with the side knocking out KCB before going on to finish third.
Menengai Oilers sit fourth on 26 points and will be looking to build on their strong showing at Dala. After collecting only seven points at Prinsloo, the Oilers bounced back in Kisumu and reached the final, earning 19 points in the process.
Daystar Falcons are fifth with 23 points, while Nondescripts RFC and Mwamba RFC are tied on 22 points. Nondescripts started strongly with 17 points at Prinsloo but managed only five at Dala.
Mwamba, on the other hand, improved significantly, jumping from five points in Nakuru to 17 points in Kisumu after reaching the Cup semi-finals.
Strathmore Leos occupy eighth with 20 points, followed by KU Blak Blad on 18 and MMUST on 17. Nakuru RFC are 11th with 15 points, while Zetech Oaks have 10 points after collecting their entire tally at Dala.
Further down the table, Impala RFC have seven points, Kisumu RFC six, Catholic Monks three and Embu RFC two.
With only two legs completed, the battle for the overall circuit crown is still wide open. The Kabeberi 7s, scheduled for August 15–16 at the RFUEA Grounds in Nairobi, presents another important opportunity for teams to close the gap at the top or strengthen their positions.
For Kabras, the objective will be to maintain their momentum. For KCB, Harlequin and the rest of the chasing pack, Kabeberi offers a chance to put pressure on the leaders as the National 7s Circuit enters its third leg.
