- The marquee two-legged Mashemeji Derby features Gor Mahia hosting AFC Leopards in the first leg between 19th and 22nd November 2026 (Match Week 11).

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Leagues and Competitions Committee has released the draft fixtures for the 2026/2027 SportPesa League season, outlining a 34-round campaign set to run from late August through mid-May.
The release comes just hours after a landmark decision by the Sports Disputes Tribunal (SDT) delivered earlier today regarding the controversial promotion and relegation saga from the 2025/26 season.
The SDT ruled that the FKF National Executive Council followed due process in the adaptation of the 2025 FKF Rules. As a direct outcome of this verdict, Mombasa United have secured the third automatic promotion spot to the SportPesa League, while Kariobangi Sharks have officially been relegated.

The top-flight campaign kicks off on Sunday, 23rd August 2026, with the traditional curtain-raiser, the FKF Super Cup, featuring league champions Gor Mahia FC taking on FKF Cup winners Tusker FC.
Matchday 1 follows immediately the next weekend across 29th and 30th August.
The opening weekend serves up immediate trials for the newly promoted contingent of 3K FC, Migori Youth, and Mombasa United.
3K FC begin their top-flight journey at home against Mara Sugar, while Mombasa United host Kakamega Homeboyz, and Migori Youth take on Kenya Police.
Titleholders Gor Mahia initiate their crown defense with a home fixture against Murang’a SEAL, while AFC Leopards clash with coastal side Bandari FC, and Ulinzi Stars face Tusker FC in another headline fixture of the opening weekend.
Additional Matchday 1 encounters include Mathare United against APS Bomet, Nairobi United hosting KCB, and Posta Rangers battling Shabana.

FKF tentative dates for the Mashemeji Derby
Football enthusiasts tracking the highly anticipated fixture of the domestic calendar can mark two key dates for the iconic Mashemeji Derby.
The first-leg encounter will see Gor Mahia host arch-rivals AFC Leopards during Match Week 11, scheduled between 19th and 22nd November 2026. The reverse fixture will see AFC Leopards host K’Ogalo in Match Week 28, set for the weekend of 2nd to 4th April 2027.
The season reaches its conclusion on 16th May 2027 with Match Week 34, where all nine matches will be played simultaneously.
The final day is highlighted by a high-profile matchup of Gor Mahia against Shabana FC while AFC Leopards will be hosting Nairobi United, Mombasa United take on Tusker FC, Mathare United play Bandari FC as KCB host Kakamega Homeboyz.
