Victor Mola has finally been handed his long-awaited debut call-up to Kenya’s 7s squad after Kevin Wambua unveiled his 13-man roster with two tweaks for the final two legs of the World Championship in Valladolid and Bordeaux 7s.
The Strathmore Leos speedster, who made waves last year in the SportPesa National Sevens Circuit as the competition’s top try scorer, has finally broken into Shujaa’s first team after turning out for the Kenya Morans.
He now heads into the second leg set for Valladolid 7s, running from 29-31 May 2026.
Coach Bling has stuck with the core of the outfit that secured a respectable seventh-place finish at the opening leg in Hong Kong 7s, while shuffling the traveling squad.
Nakuru RFC’s Chrisant Ojwang’ also returns from a hamstring injury, with the pair replacing Floyd Wabwire and Gabriel Ayimba.

KCB RFC supply the bulk of the team with co-captains George Ooro and Samuel Asati maintaining their roles at the helm alongside Vincent Onyala and Festus Safari.
Kabras Sugar contribute Kevin Wekesa and Brian Tanga alongside Menengai Oilers’ Denis Abukuse and John Okoth.
Other players in the squad include Nygel Amaitsa from Strathmore Leos, Daystar Falcons speedster Patrick Odongo and David Nyangige.
Shujaa has been drawn into a tough Pool A alongside series leaders South Africa, Australia, and Great Britain at the Estadio José Zorrilla.
The clash with South Africa will be particularly spicy. In Hong Kong, Shujaa pushed the Blitzboks to the absolute wire in a thrilling 26-22 quarterfinal heartbreaker, and Kenya will be eager to exact revenge after leading until the final two minutes.
Kenya must finish inside the top eight of the 12 World Championship teams across Hong Kong, Valladolid, and Bordeaux to earn promotion back to HSBC SVNS Division One for 2027.
