Gor Mahia are hoping to clinch a record breaking 22nd SportPesa League title with a victory against Mara Sugar in round 33 this weekend.
The league leaders are currently on 68 points, two more than their eternal rivals AFC Leopards in second. A win away at Mara Sugar on Sunday will see them confirmed as the 2025/26 champions with a game to spare.
Leopards are also away against the in form APS Bomet, knowing that nothing but a win will keep any hopes of a first title since 1998 alive. They will keep their fingers crossed for Gor to drop points and take the title challenge into the last game of the season.
Defending champions Police FC are in third with 52 points but have played one game less, with Shabana hot on their heels with 51. Nairobi United round up the top five places with 49.

At the foot of the table, Sofapaka and Bidco United have already been relegated to the National Super League. The final relegation spot is currently held by Ulinzi Stars, who have 32 points after 31 games.
Kariobangi Sharks are a point and a place above them after an impressive three-game unbeaten run in recent weeks to keep their survival hopes alive.
We have a look at some of the top games headlining the weekend and offer our predicted outcomes.
Kariobangi Sharks vs Kakamega Homeboyz – Saturday, 3PM – Police Sacco Stadium
Sharks are coming off an impressive 2-0 victory against Nairobi United, making it three straight games without defeat. Another win here will significantly boost their survival hopes.
Young sensation Humphrey Aroko was on target yet again for the hosts. Sharks are after revenge after losing 2-0 to Homeboyz in the reverse fixture in January.

The William Muluya coached side will believe they can get all three points against a Homeboyz side who are without a win in seven matches. They come into the game on a pathetic three-match losing streak.
Prediction – Sharks to win or draw (1X)
Ulinzi Stars vs Mathare United – Saturday, 3PM – Ulinzi Sports Complex
Times are desperate for Ulinzi as they continue to battle to avoid relegation to the NSL next season. The four-time Kenyan league winners are without a win in their last four outings and need to change that here to maintain a fighting chance.
Their most recent match was a 2-0 home defeat to Leopards.

Mathare come into the game in 13th place with 38 points, still within reach of a top 10 finish this season. The slum boys snapped a three-game winless run to edge Mara Sugar 1-0 last weekend.
There is undoubtedly more on the line for the soldiers but they have not beaten Mathare since January 2023. The most recent match between these two teams resulted in a 1-0 win for the slum boys.
Prediction – Under 2.5 goals

APS Bomet vs AFC Leopards – Sunday, 2PM – Green Stadium
Bomet are the most in form team in the SportPesa League, winning their last six games. They have also not conceded a single goal in their last eight matches, since a 1-1 draw against Bidco in March.
Their tremendous run of form has seen them rise from the relegation zone and into 12th place with 40 points.
Leopards are desperate to end this run knowing that if they do not win, their title hopes are over for the season. Ingwe have won their last three games and bring a confidence of their own into this clash.
Leopards beat Bomet 2-1 in the reverse fixture in January, however the newcomers have gone on to have an amazing calendar year to guarantee they will be in the top flight next season.
Prediction – Bomet to win or draw (1X)
Mara Sugar vs Gor Mahia – Sunday, 2PM – Raila Odinga Stadium
Mara are out to bounce back after a narrow 1-0 defeat to Mathare last time out. They will also be keen on inflicting pain on a Gor side who thrashed them 3-0 when these two sides last met.
The difference now is that a win for K’Ogalo will see them confirmed as champions. The visitors were convincing last weekend with a 3-1 win against Murang’a to put one hand on the SportPesa League trophy.

Nairobi United vs Police FC – Sunday, 4PM – Ulinzi Sports Complex
The wounded Nai Boys are desperate to return to winning ways after two games without victory. They followed up the 2-0 defeat to Sharks with a disappointing 2-2 draw against Posta Rangers.
Police are unbeaten in their last 10 games in all competitions. The defending champions edged Bandari on penalties to book a place in the Football Kenya Federation Cup final against Tusker FC.
The only match ever played between these two sides resulted in a 1-1 draw in January. Ovellah Ochieng’ was on target for Nairobi United and Yves Koutiama rescued the point with an 83rd minute equalizer.
Prediction – Under 2.5 goals
