Bayern Munich vs Stuttgart prediction

Bayern Munich will be aiming to complete a domestic double when they face defending champions Stuttgart in the DFB-Pokal final at the Olympiastadion in Berlin on Saturday night.

After reclaiming the Bundesliga title in dominant fashion, Vincent Kompany’s men now have the opportunity to cap off a sensational campaign with another major trophy.

The Bavarians have looked ruthless throughout the season, blowing away opponents with their aggressive pressing, fluid attacking play and devastating finishing in the final third.

Bayern wrapped up their Bundesliga campaign in style with a commanding 5-1 victory over FC Koln, a performance that once again highlighted the firepower within their squad.

Harry Kane has been at the heart of Bayern’s dominance this season. The England captain has enjoyed the most prolific campaign of his career, netting 58 goals across all competitions while also contributing with assists and link-up play.

The striker will now be targeting another piece of silverware after already helping Bayern reclaim the Bundesliga crown.

Bayern’s route to the final has been equally impressive, winning all five of their DFB-Pokal matches while consistently overwhelming teams with their attacking intensity.

The German giants have lifted this trophy a record 20 times and head into Saturday’s showdown as strong favourites.

Stuttgart, however, will believe they can cause problems despite Bayern’s dominance. Sebastian Hoeness has overseen another excellent season for the Swabians, guiding the club to a top-four Bundesliga finish and securing UEFA Champions League football for next season.

The defending cup holders are now dreaming of back-to-back DFB-Pokal triumphs after last season’s memorable success in Berlin. Stuttgart have also won all five of their matches in this season’s competition and have shown resilience in difficult moments throughout their cup run.

Despite their impressive campaign, Stuttgart’s biggest challenge remains their poor recent record against Bayern. The Swabians have lost seven of their last eight meetings against the Bavarians and have struggled to contain Bayern’s attacking transitions and movement between the lines.

Still, Stuttgart possess enough attacking quality to threaten any defence. Deniz Undav has been outstanding this season, while Ermedin Demirovic and Bilal El Khannouss provide creativity and penetration going forward.

What time does Bayern Munich vs Stuttgart start?

Kick-off is at 10:00 PM (EAT) on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at the Olympiastadion in Berlin.

Bayern Munich vs Stuttgart team news

Bayern Munich are expected to be without legendary goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, who continues to struggle with a calf injury. Jonas Urbig is set to deputise between the posts in what would be one of the biggest matches of his career.

Alphonso Davies is also unlikely to feature after missing Bayern’s last two matches with a hamstring problem, while Serge Gnabry remains sidelined after being out since April.

Harry Kane is expected to spearhead Bayern’s attack alongside Jamal Musiala, Michael Olise and Luis Diaz in an explosive frontline capable of stretching Stuttgart’s defence.

Stuttgart have fewer injury concerns heading into the final and are expected to field close to their strongest possible lineup. Bilal El Khannouss is set to return to the starting XI after missing recent action.

Deniz Undav, who has scored 25 goals across all competitions this season, will lead the line for the Swabians, while Chris Fuhrich and Jamie Leweling are expected to provide width and pace on the flanks.

Predicted lineups

Bayern Munich possible starting XI: Urbig; Stanisic, Upamecano, Tah, Laimer; Kimmich, Pavlovic; Olise, Musiala, Diaz; Kane

Stuttgart possible starting XI: Nubel; Hendriks, Chabot, Mittelstadt; Leweling, Karazor, Stiller, Fuhrich; El Khannouss; Demirovic, Undav

Bayern Munich vs Stuttgart head-to-head record and current form

Bayern Munich head into the final with a dominant recent record against Stuttgart, winning seven of the last eight meetings between the two clubs. The Bavarians have consistently exposed Stuttgart’s defensive structure with quick passing combinations and clinical finishing in transition.

Komapny’s side have also finished the season strongly, winning back-to-back matches and scoring freely in the process. Bayern have netted 122 league goals this season and remain the most dangerous attacking side in German football.

Stuttgart, meanwhile, have also enjoyed strong form in cup competitions and secured Champions League qualification after drawing 2-2 with Eintracht Frankfurt last weekend.

The Swabians have shown they can compete against top sides, but stopping Bayern over 90 minutes will require a near-perfect performance.

Bayern Munich vs Stuttgart prediction

Stuttgart are expected to approach the game bravely and should create opportunities with the attacking quality they possess. However, Bayern’s experience, attacking depth and relentless intensity in possession could ultimately prove too much over the course of the final.

With Harry Kane enjoying the best scoring season of his career and Bayern carrying momentum into Berlin, the Bavarians look well placed to end their long wait for another DFB-Pokal crown.
