The Serie A enters round 36 this weekend with plenty still to play for despite Inter Milan being crowned champions last Sunday.

Inter beat Parma 2-0 to clinch a 21st Serie A title in the clubs’ history and a first for former player turned head coach Christian Chivu. The victory opened up a 12-point gap between them and Napoli with three games to go.

Napoli have already secured a spot in next season’s Champions League, with third place AC Milan on 67 points and Juventus on 65. Roma follow closely with 64, as the fight for a top four finish continues.

Como have had an exemplary season under Cesc Fabregas and are in sixth place with 62 points, still pushing for a place in Europe next season.

We have a look at some of the top games lined up in round 36 and offer our predicted outcomes.

Torino vs Sassuolo – Friday, 9:45PM – Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino

Torino are without a win in their last three Serie A matches ahead of this match, leaving them in 13th place with 41 points.

Their opponents Sassuolo are 10th with 49 points and are looking to stretch their unbeaten run to four games here. This will be a tall order especially since they have failed to win either of their last four away games.

Torino are coming off a 2-0 defeat against Udinese, while Sassuolo did extremely well to beat AC Milan by the same scoreline.

Nikola Vlasic was on target as Torino beat Sassuolo 1-0 in the reverse fixture last December. The hosts are tipped as favorites to complete the double over Sassuolo and gain a couple of places on the log.

Lazio vs Inter – Saturday, 7PM – Stadio Olimpico

Eighth place Lazio have 51 points after 35 games and are unbeaten in their last three Serie A games. They take on newly-crowned champions Inter who are still reeling from their weekend celebrations.

A win for Inter here will be their 27th in a terrific season under Christian Chivu. The visiting Inter are unbeaten in their last eight league games and will be looking to continue their fine run of form here.

Inter already beat Lazio 2-0 earlier this season, courtesy of goals from top scorer Lautaro Martinez and Ange Bonny.

Lazio have not beaten Inter since 2022 but their five-match unbeaten home run in the league will give them a confidence boost ahead of this potentially explosive encounter.

Lecce vs Juventus – Saturday, 9:45PM – Stadio Via del mare

Lecce did well to beat Pisa 2-1 away from home, putting some room between them and the bottom three. A three-match unbeaten run has increased their chance of avoiding relegation and an upset here would all but secure their top flight status.

They face a fourth place Juventus side who have the longest unbeaten run in the Serie A – 10 games without defeat. The last time Lecce beat Juventus was a 2-0 victory in 2011.

The reverse fixture in January resulted in a 1-1 draw. There have been two stalemates between these sides in the last five head-to-head matches, with Juve winning the remaining three.

An upset is tough but not impossible for the visitors here, with a possible draw being their most favorable outcome. Juve are favorites to extend their unbeaten streak here.

Verona vs Como – Sunday, 1:30PM – Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi

Como must beat Verona if they are to keep alive any hopes of a top-four finish and a spot in the Champions League next season. Two defeats in their last five matches has somewhat halted their progress but they seem to be back on track.

The Fabgregas side are in sixth with 62 points and are eager to bounce back to winning ways after a frustrating barren draw against Napoli last time out.

Verona on the other hand have already been relegated from the Serie A but have battled to successive draws against Lecce and Juventus. This snapped a five-game losing streak, where they only managed to score one goal.

Como have won three of the last five matches played against Verona, with the remaining two resulting in a draw. The reverse fixture ended in a convincing 3-1 win for Como.

AC Milan vs Atalanta – Sunday, 9:45PM – San Siro

Despite losing three of their last five Serie A games, Milan are in third place with 67 points. However, dropping points here may seem them finish the weekend outside the top four.

They face an Atalanta side who are also struggling with form recently, winning just one of their last five league matches. Their most recent match was a barren home draw against Genoa, leaving them in seventh place with 55 points.

Milan are coming off a 2-0 loss to Sassuolo and need to get all three points here to get their European quest back on track. They have not managed a win against Atalanta since 2023, settling for a 1-1 draw last October in the first leg.

Atalanta have proved to be dominant over Milan in recent history but have only managed one win in their last nine matches on the road. This is expected to be a rather cagey encounter and most likely a low scoring affair.
