Harambee Stars striker Moses Shumah continued his impressive form in Zambia after scoring the only goal as Power Dynamos defeated Nkwazi FC 1-0 in a rescheduled Week 27 fixture of the 2025/2026 MTN Super League.
The match played on Wednesday evening at the Edwin Imboela Stadium saw Power Dynamos complete a league double over Nkwazi while extending their lead at the top of the table to 10 points.
The victory further strengthened their title charge as the season nears its decisive stage.
Shumah once again proved decisive, striking early in the game. Left-back Evans Ogbonda delivered a perfectly weighted cross from the left flank inside four minutes, and the Kenyan forward reacted quickly to tap home from close range, giving the visitors a dream start.
The goal took Shumah’s tally to 21 goals in 26 league matches, a remarkable return in his debut season in the Zambian Super League.

His consistency in front of goal has placed him firmly on course to win the golden boot, underlining his growing influence at Power Dynamos.
Nkwazi responded strongly after conceding early, regaining control in midfield through Charles Majapa Mumba and Mathews Mashimikilo. Their efforts kept the Power defence busy, with several attempts testing goalkeeper Willard Mwanza.
Dynamos nearly doubled their advantage before halftime when Ishmael Ankobo connected well with a Shumah pass, but his effort was blocked by Adrian Chama.
Both sides made tactical changes after the break, with Nkwazi introducing fresh legs and Power Dynamos managing their lead through a series of substitutions.
Despite pressure from the hosts in the second half, Power’s defence remained solid, seeing out the match to secure all three points. The result also extended their unbeaten run to 15 matches, a key factor in their dominant league campaign.

After the match, Power Dynamos second assistant coach Songwe Chalwe praised the team’s performance, saying, “The boys played very well and were equal to the task to ensure we go 10 points clear. We shall continue to take games as they come till the finishing line.”
Striker Kapembwa Musonda also highlighted the importance of team unity, noting, “Football is always about teamwork and acceptance. We have posted good results out of our unity, and we are proud to have Shumah enjoying form, which has helped the team a lot.”
Shumah’s fine form also earned him the Fans’ Man of the Match award, further highlighting his growing reputation in Zambian football.
Power Dynamos will now shift their focus to the ABSA Cup, where they are set to face Mufulira Wanderers in the semi-finals on Saturday.
