  • Grenada vs Kenya: The two sides will face off in the third-place playoff of the FIFA Series 2026.
  • The match will be played on Monday, March 30, at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali, Rwanda.

Harambee Stars will be aiming to make things right on Monday evening when they face off against Grenada in the FIFA Series mini-tournament’s third-place playoff at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali, Rwanda.

The men’s national team were denied a shot at reaching the final of this friendly series on Friday, March 27, by European side Estonia, where they were edged out in a penalty shootout.

After playing to a 1-1 draw in regulation time where Ryan Ogam leveled the contest in the second half following Tanel Tammik’s opening header from a corner in the first, Estonia, went on to triumph 5-4 in the shootout after Richard Odada saw his panenka sail over the bar.

Now, Harambee Stars, who are on a four-match winless run across all competitions, will need to channel all their energy into this third-place playoff against Grenada – a side that got hammered by the hosts Rwanda 4-0 on the same day, as they look to restore some pride.

The two sides will lock horns on Monday, March 30, at the Amahoro Stadium, with kick-off at 5pm EAT.

Grenada vs Kenya team news

Speaking ahead of the encounter, head coach Benni McCarthy stated that he’s still proud of the lads for the solid effort they put in, despite falling short on penalties, and he hopes they will carry that same performance into Monday.

“I think it’s been good for us. A nice challenge. The game against Estonia is still very fresh in our minds, and I’m happy with the performance the boys gave. To lose on penalties is never easy, but it’s part and parcel of football.

So I think we’ve done really well, and now our focus shifts to the next game. Obviously, we want to just continue the good work we did in the last match, bring it over, and play Granada.

So I’m looking forward to tomorrow, and hopefully, we can round off this nice tournament we’ve been part of by getting a win, and that’s what the team deserves,” McCarthy stated.

In addition, the former Bafana Bafana legend mentioned that they will be making some changes to the squad to ensure everyone gets a chance to feature, as that is the core objective of these matches, and he hopes they can build something from it.

“The idea is to try and give everybody a chance to get on the pitch, play some minutes, represent the country, and add to the quality we have.

Like we said, we are preparing for the one coming in 2027, so you want to see all your players. So there might be some changes in tomorrow’s squad from the team that started against Estonia, but we will see after training today,” he added.

His squad reshuffling will come as a result of an injury setback, with one of the key wingers, Job Ochinge, set to miss out on that encounter.

Grenada vs Kenya head-to-head record and current form

This will be the first meeting between the two sides, and each will be aiming to assert their dominance differently in this maiden clash.

Harambee Stars have won just one of their last five matches – a 1-0 victory over Burundi, while they have gone on to suffer defeats against Ivory Coast, Guinea, Senegal, and Estonia, so they will be looking to put that record on hold.
