AFC Leopards turned up the heat in the SportPesa League title race after taking apart Posta Rangers 2-1 on Saturday evening at Nyayo Stadium, cutting Gor Mahia’s lead at the top to just three points.

However, that gap might be short-lived, as K’Ogalo will be watching closely before their clash with KCB FC on Sunday, looking to extend the lead back to six points, even though Ingwe still have a game in hand.

The Fred Ambani men seized control in the first half with two well-taken goals. Kelly Madada broke the deadlock before Kayci Odhiambo produced a brilliant finish from a corner to seal all three points.

The win piled more misery on Posta Rangers, whose winless run has now stretched to nine league matches.

Beyond the three points, Ingwe also snapped their own three-game winless streak against the Mailmen.

The victory – their 11th of the season, extended their unbeaten run to six matches, staying second place on 40 points.

Robert Ponda came off the bench to pull one back for Rangers, scoring just two minutes after stepping onto the pitch.

He latched onto a loose ball at Kaycs’ feet, slipped past Sichenje, and buried the chance giving his side a flicker of hope. But Ingwe kept their composure down the stretch to lock in the three points on home turf.

Elsewhere, there was fireworks in Murang’a as Murang’a SEAL tasted their first defeat after a sparkling four-match winning streak, falling 2-3 to Bandari FC at the SportPesa Arena.
