SportPesa League action resumes after a one week hiatus as Bidco United prepares to host Kakamega Homeboyz on Friday, February 13 in the first match of Gameweek 20.

Originally scheduled for the Kasarani Annex at 3pm, the fixture was moved to the SportPesa Arena in Murang’a following the closure of Kasarani facilities by Sports Kenya for renovations.

Bidco United remains in a precarious position, sitting 17th in the standings with 15 points. Their season has been defined by a grueling winless streak that now stretches to 14 matches.

Bidco United Head Coach Anthony Akhulia is expected to trust the inform Brian Odooh to lead the attack. Odooh has contributed to four of the last six goals including a brace in their last match against Naivasha Police.

This fixture marks a somber moment for Kakamega Homeboyz, as it is their first league match since the tragic passing of their dependable center-back, Silas Abungana.

Coach Akhulia remains defiant despite the 14-match winless streak, focusing on the marginal gains he’s seen in recent weeks.
On the Winless Run , Akhulia accepted the tough times saying;

“I always take the blame,I make the decisions. But looking at our last few matches, we have started scoring again. That tells me something is finally working. We just need to find that elusive win to break the mental block.”

Kakamega Homeboyz Head Coach Patrick Odhiambo has downplayed title race talks.

“We are not chasing the table, we are focusing on our performance. At this stage, concentration and discipline are what win games. Small lapses are punished at this level, and that is where we have dropped points recently. We must remain focused and avoid complacency.”

Homeboyz have won six of their eleven meetings against the oilers including three consecutive wins in the last three matches.
Bidco United has never won against Abana Beingo as the remaining five encounters have all been draws.

A win for the hosts catapults them from the relegation zone while victory for Homeboyz pushes them into the top three and firmly into the title race.
