Berkane enjoyed a strong start, dictating possession in the early exchanges and pressing high up the pitch. Their midfield controlled the tempo for much of the first 25 minutes, forcing Power Dynamos into a compact defensive shape.
Despite their territorial dominance, the Moroccans struggled to create clear-cut chances, with Power’s backline remaining organised and disciplined.

Gradually, the hosts grew into the contest. Moses Shumah’s movement upfront gave Berkane’s defenders something to think about, while Power Dynamos began exploiting spaces on the wings.
Both sides had half-chances before the break, but the first half ended goalless in what was a tense and evenly balanced affair.

The match turned decisively just after the restart. In the 48th minute, a lapse in the Berkane defence proved costly as Daniel Adoko’s intelligent play on the flank opened up space for Ronel Manyanga, who calmly tapped home from close range to send the home fans into celebration.
The goal injected belief into Power Dynamos and shifted the momentum firmly in their favour.
Berkane responded by committing more players forward, increasing the tempo in search of an equaliser.
However, Power Dynamos remained composed, soaking up pressure and defending with remarkable discipline. Shumah continued to lead the line tirelessly before making way late in the game as head coach Osward Mutapa turned to his bench to manage the closing stages.

Substitute Chifundo Mphasi made an immediate impact, drawing multiple fouls and unsettling the Berkane defence. His influence paid off deep into stoppage time when he delivered a perfectly weighted assist for Prince Mumba, who finished calmly to seal the 2–0 victory and put the result beyond doubt.
The final whistle confirmed a crucial three points for Power Dynamos, lifting them to seven points from five matches and level with RS Berkane in Group A.
The result reshapes the qualification picture, with Pyramids FC still leading the group as the battle heads into the final round of fixtures.
For Berkane, the defeat leaves their progression in serious jeopardy. For Power Dynamos, it was a statement performance that underlined their growing confidence on the continental stage.
Attention now turns to a daunting away trip to Egypt to face Pyramids FC, where Moses Shumah, the club’s top scorer in all competitions, will be eager to make his mark as the Zambian champions chase a historic quarter-final berth.
