Kenya’s national futsal team has learned its route to the CAF Futsal Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2026 following the official draw conducted on Wednesday in Rabat, Morocco.
The draw set the stage for a demanding qualification campaign that will see 18 teams battle for just seven available slots at the continental finals, where they will join hosts and defending champions Morocco.
For Kenya, the journey begins in the first round against Namibia in a two-legged tie. The first leg is scheduled for January 23, 2026, with the return leg set for January 28, 2026.

As is standard in the qualifiers, the winner will be decided on aggregate score over the two matches, with the victorious side advancing to the second and decisive round of qualification.
The pairing against Namibia presents both a challenge and an opportunity for Kenya. Namibia has steadily grown in stature in futsal across the region, while Kenya has been working to establish consistency and competitiveness on the continental stage.
The first round will therefore be crucial, not just in terms of progression, but also as a test of Kenya’s tactical discipline, squad depth, and mental strength over two tightly scheduled fixtures.
Elsewhere in the first round, several intriguing encounters were confirmed. Cape Verde will face Senegal in what promises to be a highly competitive tie, Cameroon have been drawn against South Sudan, while Zimbabwe will take on regional rivals Tanzania.
These matches are expected to set a high tempo for the rest of the qualification campaign, given the growing quality of futsal across Africa.
