Nairobi United return to SportPesa League action on a mission to end their worrying run of results when they host Murang’a SEAL at the Kasarani Annex from 4 PM.
After a brilliant start to life in the top flight, the newcomers have hit a difficult patch, losing consecutive league matches and struggling in continental football.
Their dip in form began during their CAF Confederation Cup Group Stage campaign, where they suffered a heavy 3-0 defeat away to Wydad Casablanca in Morocco before falling 1-0 to AS Maniema Union at Kasarani Stadium.

That continental disappointment carried into their domestic fixtures, where they have since lost 1-0 to Mathare United and 2-0 to Posta Rangers, dragging them down the table.
Nairobi United now sit 13th in the SportPesa League standings with 12 points, having won four matches and lost four in their opening eight league fixtures.
Despite their struggles, they still have four games in hand, offering them a chance to climb if they find consistency. The side has scored 10 goals and conceded the same number;clear evidence of a team still trying to find balance.
Nairobi United vs Murang’a SEAL team news
Head coach Nicholas Muyoti, speaking after their loss to Posta Rangers, dismissed fatigue from continental football as a contributing factor and instead pointed to poor finishing as the team’s biggest challenge.
“I cannot blame fatigue from CAF games. We played well and created chances, but we failed to finish. We hit the post, the keeper made remarkable saves, and that was the difference. Our main focus now is to turn chances into goals,”Muyoti said.
This will be the first-ever top-flight meeting between Nairobi United and Murang’a SEAL.
On the other side, SEAL come into the match carrying the longest unbeaten run in the SportPesa League this season. They have drawn five consecutive league games and won one, showing resilience even as their results keep them deep in the table.
Despite their unbeaten streak, SEAL remain 17th with 11 points from 11 matches. They have managed only two wins, suffered four losses, and drawn five games. Defensively, they have conceded 12 goals while scoring 10.
Head coach Osborne Monday believes his squad has shown tremendous improvement since his arrival.
“When I came in I found them in another state, but for me they are building up. They are growing in terms of playing this ball and they are learning a lot of good stuff tactically. That’s positive for me because it’s just a matter of time before we get good results.”
SEAL will rely on their solid defensive record from the last six matches, while Nairobi United hope to rediscover their scoring touch and reignite their early-season momentum.
Both teams desperately need a win ,Nairobi United to end their slump and Murang’a SEAL to escape the relegation zone setting up a compelling clash at Kasarani Annex.
