SportPesa League Round 13

Bidco United welcome Mathare United to Kasarani Stadium this afternoon from 3 PM as both sides seek to revive their form in SportPesa League Round 13.

Antony Akhulia’s Bidco United enter the fixture placed 12th on the log with 13 points from 12 matches.

Their season has been characterized by strong defensive performances but a major struggle in attack. Bidco have won three games, drawn four, and lost five, scoring only seven goals while conceding ten.

Goalkeeper Issa Emuria, however, has been a standout performer, keeping six clean sheets, the most in the league so far.

Despite their bright start to the season, which included a famous 1-0 victory over Gor Mahia at Kasarani courtesy of a last-minute penalty, Bidco have gone seven matches without a win.

Their recent run includes four defeats and three draws, raising concerns for Coach Akhulia as he looks to steady the team’s momentum.

Mathare United come into the match sitting 10th on the table with 14 points. They have registered four wins, two draws, and six losses, the highest number of defeats by any side this season.

John Kamau’s team is still recovering from a disappointing 1-0 loss to Mara Sugar in their previous outing at Kasarani.

Midfielder Musa Masika believes Mathare’s inconsistency has been largely due to missed chances.

“We create many opportunities, but we need to make better use of them,” he said. “We shouldn’t allow ourselves to lose easily. If we win, then the worst result after that should be a draw, not a loss, because consistency is key.”

History favors Bidco United heading into today’s fixture. They have beaten Mathare in four of their last six league meetings. Masika, however, remains optimistic that Mathare can overturn that record.

“History doesn’t favor us much against them, but we can break that jinx with the right mentality. If we stay organized, we can get the win,” he added.

Tickets are available at KSh 200 (regular) and KSh 500 (VIP).

Kakamega Homeboyz vs Shabana FC

Meanwhile, some miles away in Kakamega County, Kakamega Homeboyz will be hosting in-form Shabana FC at Bukhungu Stadium from 3 PM.

Homeboyz will aim to build on their recent 1–1 draw with KCB as they target three points that could potentially return them to top spot, depending on how second-place Gor Mahia fare in Mombasa against Bandari FC, with the two sides level on 19 points, one behind leaders Kenya Police FC.

Shabana, on the other hand, are riding high and will seek to extend their unbeaten run to six matches, comprising three wins and two draws.

They enter the contest on the back of consecutive victories, most recently a 1–0 win over Bidco United last weekend at Gusii Stadium.

A win on Friday could lift them to first place, especially if Posta Rangers (fourth) and Gor Mahia (second) also drop points.
