- Ulinzi Stars striker Paul Okoth and Shabana’s in-form goalkeeper Stephen Ochieng’ are also in the list.
The race for the SportPesa League Player of the Month award for November 2025 has officially kicked off after league sponsors SportPesa unveiled four outstanding athletes whose consistency, influence and match-winning displays stood out throughout the month.
The nominees list features Murang’a SEAL’s commanding defender Paul Ngugi, APS Bomet’s creative midfielder Hansel Ochieng’, Ulinzi Stars striker Paul Okoth and Shabana’s in-form goalkeeper Stephen Ochieng’.
The eventual winner will walk away with KSh 50,000 and a customized trophy courtesy of SportPesa.
November produced some of the most competitive fixtures of the 2025/26 campaign, and these four players were right at the center of their teams’ success.

SportPesa League November 2025 Player of the Month nominees
Hansel Ochieng’ (APS Bomet)
Hansel Ochieng’ was one of the most exciting players to watch in November. The attacking midfielder played a crucial role in Bomet’s resurgence, scoring a late penalty to salvage a 1-1 draw against Mathare United.
Days later, he produced one of the standout individual displays of the season, dismantling Gor Mahia in a stunning 4-1 victory where he bagged a brace and provided an assist. His performance earned him the Man of the Match award.
With an average of 10 shots per match and a 40% shot accuracy, Ochieng’ was instrumental in driving APS Bomet’s creativity and attacking threat. The former Afc Leopards attacker featured once in the SportPesa League team of week in November.
Paul Ngugi (Murang’a Seal)
In his debut season in the topflight, Ngugi has quickly established himself as one of the league’s most reliable defenders. Signed from lower-tier side FC Dynamo, the center-back delivered a near-perfect month as Murang’a Seal went unbeaten in November.
Ngugi was named Man of the Match in the goalless draw against AFC Leopards, again in the 1-1 draw with Kakamega Homeboyz where he also found the back of the net, and once more in the 2-1 win over KCB.
Across five matches, he averaged 43 clearances, 10 interceptions, 7 blocks and an impressive 93% pass accuracy. His consistency earned him two appearances in the SportPesa League Team of the Week.
Paul Okoth (Ulinzi Stars)
Ulinzi Stars forward Paul Okoth enjoyed an effective month, contributing directly to four goals. He scored the decisive strike in the 1-0 win over APS Bomet before netting a brace and providing an assist in the 3-1 victory against Sofapaka.
Averaging 13 shot attempts per match, Okoth’s sharpness in front of goal helped Ulinzi remain competitive across their fixtures, and he earned a deserved spot in the Team of the Week.
Stephen Ochieng’ (Shabana)
Shabana’s goalkeeper Stephen Ochieng’ was a wall between the posts during November. The custodian recorded three clean sheets in four matches, pulling off 23 saves and making 13 successful claims with an 87% claim accuracy.
His clean sheets came in crucial fixtures a 0-0 draw against Kariobangi Sharks, a narrow 1-0 win over Ulinzi Stars, and another 1-0 victory over Police FC. His leadership and calm presence have been key in stabilizing Shabana’s backline.
The four nominees represent some of the finest talent lighting up the SportPesa League at the moment, and competition for the award is expected to be intense as fans from Murang’a Seal, Shabana, APS Bomet, Ulinzi Stars and the SportPesa League rally behind their stars.
