- Enock Morrison becomes fifth Gor Mahia player involved in accident on Tuesday.
- Earlier accident involved the quartet of Austine Odhiambo, Felix Oluoch, Joshua Onyango and Fidel Origa.
- The first leg of the Mashemeji Derby takes place on 7 December 2025.
Gor Mahia midfielder Enock Morrison was earlier today involved in a car accident while heading to training, an incident that comes only days before the highly anticipated Mashemeji Derby against AFC Leopards.
The Ghanaian becomes the fifth Gor Mahia player to be involved in a road incident this week, following the earlier accident that involved assistant captain Austine Odhiambo, the club’s top scorer Felix Oluoch, defender Joshua Onyango and midfielder Fidel Origa.
The quartet returned to training yesterday after being cleared, with head coach Charles Akonnor confirming that they were in good condition ahead of Sunday’s showdown.

Another Gor Mahia player involved in accident
“We are thankful to God that all the boys who got involved in the accident are healthy,” Akonnor said after their return.
“Today was their first day back in training and everyone is in good shape. It was a situation that could have taken someone out of the squad but we are set and very ready as we prepare for the upcoming match.”
Sources close to the midfielder have assured that he is stable and not at risk of missing the derby.
According to the source, all medical examinations including X-rays have confirmed that Morrison is fine and available for selection.

“He will be ready for the derby. The medical check-up from Luton Hospital where we are currently shows everything is fine.”
Gor Mahia confirmed that the player sustained no serious injury in the incident on Tuesday morning.

The back-to-back incidents have raised concern within the Gor Mahia camp, especially coming just days before the league’s biggest fixture.
However, the positive medical updates bring a huge sigh of relief to the technical bench and fans who will be counting on Morrison’s creativity and work rate in midfield.
Gor Mahia will host AFC Leopards this Sunday at Nyayo Stadium from 3 pm, a fixture that remains one of the fiercest rivalries in Kenyan football.
With Morrison expected to be available and the rest of the squad cleared to train, the defending champions will hope to put the off-field scares behind them and focus on securing maximum points in the Mashemeji Derby.
