In a powerful show of solidarity, Sportpesa League side Nairobi United has announced that 10% of all gate proceeds from their upcoming CAF Confederation Cup Group match against A.S Maniema Union will be dedicated to supporting the treatment of former Kenyan international Reagan Otieno.
Naiboi’s will host the Congolese side on Sunday at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani in what marks the first ever group stage home match played by the top flight debutants.
The gesture comes as the wider Kenyan football community rallies around the young player, who is in urgent need of a kidney transplant after his promising career was tragically cut short by kidney failure in his early twenties.

Otieno, a speedy winger who previously featured for KCB FC and Kenya Police FC and represented the Kenya U23 team, has been mobilizing funds for the life-saving procedure after his mom offered to donate her kidney.
The total cost is KSH 2 million, with the family having successfully raised KSH 1.6 million, leaving a deficit of KSH 400,000 for the surgery and subsequent post-transplant care.
Nairobi United’s announcement marks them as the first club to publicly commit a portion of their official match revenue directly to the player’s medical journey, setting a commendable precedent for other clubs to show their support.
The match against AS Maniema Union is critical for Nairobi United, who are looking to bounce back from a loss in their group stage opener against Wydad Athletic.
Fans now have an extra motivation to attend the continental fixture, with every ticket purchased directly contributing to the #SimamaNaReagan fund.
Tickets for the clash have been priced at KSH 200 for the regular section, KSH 500 for the VIP seats and KSH 3000 in the VVIP Dias.
