Round 5 FKF Women's Premier League

Five fixtures were played on Saturday and Sunday in the Round 5 FKF Women’s Premier League season, witnessing a total of eleven goals and five clean sheets.

Kenya Police Bullets maintained their 100% start to the season with an impressive home display, putting four past Bungoma Queens at the Police Sacco Stadium.

In the match, Ugandan International Margaret Kunihira scored her seventh goal of the season and also delivered one sublime assist for Medina Abubakar’s goal.

Puren Alukwe and Rabecca Okwaro completed the routing that continued an impressive start to life for new Bullets head coach David Bujego who has won all five matches in charge, leading the team to four clean sheets, scoring twenty three goals and conceding only one.

In another fixture played on Saturday, varsity side Zetech Sparks welcomed Vihiga Queens at the Zetech University, Mang’u Campus, with the match ending in a goalless stalemate.

Record champions Vihiga have now failed to win their last two matches after the 1-1 draw at home last time out against Ulinzi Starlets.

This was the first draw of the season for Zetech as the hunt for a first-ever victory against Vihiga continues for the Harriet Fakhir-managed Zetech.

Ulinzi Starlets’ home fixture against Trinity Starlets delivered the biggest shock of the weekend, with Trinity registering a crucial 1-0 away victory.

Not only did Eglay Mukhwana’s solitary goal end Ulinzi’s unbeaten run in the 2025/26 campaign, but it also marked the end of the Soldiers’ 24-match unbeaten streak.

A draw or win would have seen them make history for the longest unbeaten run in the history of the FKF Women’s Premier League.

This also marked the first time the Lang’ata-based club was losing a match under coach Collins Ochieng’ after a run of 16 matches.

For Trinity, it elevates them to an impressive second on the table as their unbeaten run continues.

Round 5 FKF Women's Premier League

In the final match played on Saturday in Homabay, Gideon Starlets celebrated their first-ever victory in the top flight with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Kisumu All Starlets at the Raila Odinga Stadium.

Prior to this game, the debutants had lost all four of their opening matches. For Otengalets, their woes continue with only one point recorded in the five matches they have played this season.

On Sunday, one match was witnessed as Kayole Starlets welcomed Kibera at their home turf at Kasarani Annex.

Kibera had endured a difficult start to the season, amassing only two points from a possible twelve in the opening four fixtures. Anne Arusi opened the scores for the Bob George Okallo-coached visitors early in the second half before substitute Linda Kihara responded fifteen minutes after coming on.

Last season’s FKF Women’s Cup Most Valuable Player Faith Mboya would eventually seal the first win of the season for Agar Agar with a stoppage-time goal. Kayole have now lost two of their three home matches this season.

After five rounds played, Vihiga Queens midfielder Martha Amunyolete is top of the goalscorers’ chart with 8 goals, followed closely by Margaret Kunihira from Police Bullets, who is one goal shy of Martha.

Trinity Starlet’s Eglay Mukhwana completes the top three with five goals to her name.
