Mathare United share the spoils with Bidco United in a goalless clash at Kasarani Stadium

Mathare United picked up their third draw of the season after settling for a 0–0 stalemate against Bidco United at Kasarani Stadium on Friday afternoon.

Both sides came into the match eager to bounce back from recent defeats, but resolute defending and missed chances defined the contest.

Mathare United, who were coming from a disappointing 1–0 loss to Mara Sugar, saw head coach John Kamau make several adjustments,including handing striker Dennis Okoth a starting position.

On the opposite end, Bidco United coach Antony Akhulia, whose side had suffered a 1–0 defeat to Shabana, also made changes, introducing Musamali , Herman and Oddoh into the starting XI.

The match got off to a cautious start, with both teams settling in well and neither posing any real threat during the first 12 minutes. Defenses on both ends remained solid and disciplined.

Mathare United created the first major opening in the 13th minute when captain Eli Asieche was brought down right at the edge of the penalty area. Nyawir Junior stepped up to take the resulting free kick, but his shot struck the wall.

Bidco responded almost immediately. In the 17th minute, they won a corner that was delivered superbly by Wainaina, forcing Mathare goalkeeper Kevin Ouru to stretch and punch the ball away.

Two minutes later, Mathare returned fire when a quality delivery from Brian Ochieng’ found Dennis Okoth, whose free header was expertly saved by Bidco goalkeeper Issa Emuria.

Mathare continued to pile pressure, winning several corners in succession, but Emuria remained composed. In the 24th minute, Musa Masika came inches from scoring after his sharp effort hit the side netting.

Bidco nearly opened the scoring in the 39th minute when Victor Kunyili muscled his way past two Mathare centre-backs and fired a powerful shot, only for Ouru to produce another brilliant save.

With neither side able to find a breakthrough, the first half ended goalless.

The second half began at a high tempo, with both teams pushing aggressively for the opener. Masika and Nyawir continued troubling Bidco’s backline, but Emuria maintained his strong performance.

In the 54th minute, Kunyili split the Mathare defense with a clever pass to Herman, who found himself in a one-on-one situation. However, Mathare goalkeeper Ouru once again came to the rescue with a vital save.

Coach Akhulia made several changes to refresh his side,Murung’a replaced Musamali in the 57th minute, Akite came in for Raila in the 68th, and Jacob and Munala were introduced for Oddoh and Herman in the 85th minute.

Coach Kamau also made tactical substitutions, bringing on Donald Ange for David Okoth in the 58th minute, then Warai and Macharia for Kinyanjui and Asieche in the 79th minute. Macharia nearly made an instant impact but missed the target by inches in the 81st minute.

Ultimately, neither team managed to break the deadlock. Bidco United and Mathare United held firm to secure a point each and clean sheets in a match that lacked goals but was rich in defensive discipline.

Nairobi United pick up first draw of the season against Murang’a SEAL

At Kasarani Annex, Nairobi United registered their first draw of the campaign after enduring back-to-back losses,a 1–0 defeat to Mathare United and a 2–0 loss to Posta Rangers.

Coach Nicholas Muyoti’s side started brightly, and goalkeeper Ernest Mohammed, making his first SportPesa League start, initiated the opening goal.

His precise long volley picked out Ovella Ochieng’, who controlled well before slipping the ball to Michael Karamor for a simple finish in the 9th minute.

Murang’a SEAL equalized through captain Joe Waithira, who danced past the Nairobi United defense after being set up by Tony Musa , calmly slotting home the leveller in the second half

Both teams pushed for a late winner, but no decisive breakthrough arrived, forcing them to share the points after a competitive 1–1 draw.
