KCB FC’s struggles in the SportPesa League deepened on Friday afternoon after they were forced to settle for a goalless draw against Bidco United at the Kasarani Annex.
The Bankers, who have endured a difficult spell in recent weeks, once again lacked sharpness in the attacking third, extending their winless streak to five matches and slipping further into the bottom half of the standings.
Robert Matano’s side entered the fixture eager to break their poor run, but the expected turnaround never materialized.
Instead, the team produced another flat performance, prompting visible frustration from the technical bench as the match wore on.

The draw leaves KCB in 12th place far below the expectations set for a squad once thought capable of pushing for the title.
Bidco United, who were also looking to rediscover their scoring touch after two straight matches without a goal, began the contest with greater purpose.

The visitors carved out early openings, including a promising chance for Victor Kunyili, who sent his header over the bar after meeting Clinton Asiago’s delivery at the back post.
Despite their bright start, Bidco’s attackers continued to waste opportunities, mirroring the concerns their coach Anthony Akhulia voiced after their previous outing against Tusker.
KCB struggled to create meaningful chances in the first half. Their best moment came late in the period when Jack Ong’anya attempted a long-range effort that sailed over the crossbar, summing up the Bankers’ lack of rhythm in the final third.
Goalkeepers on both sides took center stage throughout the match. KCB custodian Bonphas Munyasa, under scrutiny after recent errors, produced several crucial saves, including a brilliant stop to push away a powerful free-kick from Idriss Amadi.
Bidco’s Issa Emuria was equally alert, denying Richard Omondi and later reacting sharply to block Francis Kahiro’s effort as KCB improved slightly after the break.

Bidco continued to probe but lacked precision, with Collins Akite and Dennis Murunga both failing to capitalize on promising setups.
Their missed chances allowed KCB to remain in the game, although the Bankers rarely looked threatening enough to steal all three points.
In the dying moments, the best opportunity fell to KCB’s Omondi, but Emuria stood firm, forcing Matano into a look of resignation on the touchline as yet another chance slipped away.
With pressure growing and confidence dwindling, KCB now face serious questions about their direction this season. Bidco, meanwhile, remain sixth but will be disappointed not to have taken advantage of their dominance in key phases of the match.
