As the defending champions, the Oilers enter this encounter determined to secure their second-ever Floodies title.
Their path to the final saw them overcome the record ten-time champions, KCB, in a tight 16-13 quarterfinal victory. They then powered past Kenyatta University Blak Blad 42-21 in the semifinals to book their place.
Nondies, meanwhile, make a welcome return to the final after a period of turbulent results and will be aiming to clinch their fourth Floodies title.
The Kenya Cup record champions navigated past a stubborn Strathmore Leos side 27-21 in the quarters, before edging out the 2024 finalists and host, Impala RFC, 25-19 in a hard-fought semifinal.
With both sides in formidable form, spectators are guaranteed a spectacular showdown on Saturday night.
Oilers head coach Gibson Weru acknowledged the challenge ahead, recognizing the intensity Nondies will bring.
“It will not be an easy clash. Nondies is a very strong side; they have a solid pack with some excellent backs, and we are well aware of the threat they pose,” Weru stated before the match.
Meanwhile, his counterpart, Mosese Wanyaga, expressed confident optimism, believing his squad has the quality to deliver the title.
“The training has been good the whole week. We know we have a strong squad, and all we are going for is the win. This title will give us momentum as we head into the new Kenya Cup season,” Wanyaga told the Star.

As the two teams bring the night rugby preseason to a close, Blak Blad will face hosts Impala RFC for the bronze medal, while KCB locks horns with Strathmore Leos in the plate final earlier in the day.
In the varsity category, JKUAT will face off against United States International University (USIU) in their final, while the women’s final will see Impala Roans take on Mwamba Ladies.
