Debutants Nairobi United FC have been drawn into a challenging but mouth-watering Group B of the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup group stage.
In the draw conducted on Monday afternoon in Johannesburg, South Africa, Naibois have been placed against Wydad Athletic Club from Morocco, AS Maniema Union of the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Tanzania’s Azam FC.
The Nicholas Muyoti-coached side will face Moroccan giants Wydad AC, who are three-time TotalEnergies CAF Champions League winners.
They also claimed the CAF Cup Winners’ Cup in 2002. They are yet to lift the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup and appear in the group stages of this competition for just the second time, though this is only their fifth participation, having spent much of the last decade in the CAF Champions League.
Joining them in the league will be fellow group stage debutants Azam FC from Tanzania. The Florent Ibenge-coached team have been regulars in the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup over the years but have reached the group stages for the first time this year.

They defeated Zanzibar’s KMKM 9-0 on aggregate to progress from the second preliminary round having seen off El Merreikh Bentiu from South Sudan in the first round.
DR Congo’s AS Maniema Union complete the list of the four teams in group B. Maniema are appearing in the group stages of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup for the first time, but did make the pool stage of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League last season and will build on that experience.
They needed penalties to see off Eswatini side Royal Leopard in the last round after the tie finished 2-2 on aggregate.
In just their first appearance, United will be looking to make history by progressing to the knockout stages.
The club has already pocketed USD $400,000 (Ksh 51.6M), for qualifying to the group stage, a figure that could increase to USD 550,009 (Ksh 71M) if they finish in either of the top two qualification spots.
