AFC Leopards registered their third consecutive victory in the SportPesa League with a 2-0 win over Mathare United at the Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Second-half strikes from Vincent Mahiga and James Kinyanjui proved decisive for the 12-time top-flight champions, who extended their unbeaten run this season to six league matches.
It was an afternoon of firsts, as Kinyanjui scored his first AFC Leopards goal since joining the club in the off-season window from KCB FC, while Mahiga netted his first goal in three seasons and only his second ever goal at the club.

AFC Leopards head coach Fred Ambani maintained the same squad in the third consecutive match, with Christopher Koloti coming in for Samuel Ssenyonjo.
The Slum Boys made three changes to the lineup that played against Gor Mahia in the last match. John Macharia made his first start, while Sammy Imbuye made a return to the starting lineup.
Brian Ochieng’ was only on the bench after missing the last three games.
Kelly Madada came close to opening the scoring in the tenth minute; his shot just hitting the upright.
Mathare made their best attempt of the opening half from an Elly Asieche free kick that went just wide from 30 yards after a deflection.
Madada then came close to scoring at the stroke of halftime, but his shot on target was parried away by Kevin Ouru, with the match ending in a goalless draw at halftime.
Ingwe would take the lead just three minutes after the restart, thanks to a Vincent Mahiga strike.
Mathare responded with four changes, introducing Fidel Otieno, Paul Kinyanjui, John Okoth, and Musa Masika.
They withdrew Sammy Imbuye, Steve Kimari, Elly Asieche, and John Macharia.
James Kinyanjui then sealed the win with four minutes to go after substitute Julius Masaba dribbled past three players to tee him up; Kinyanjui was scoring against his former club.
The win marks three victories in a row for Ingwe, who are now third on the log ahead of next week’s fixture against Mara Sugar.
