- AFC Leopards beat Shabana FC 2–1 in a SportPesa League Round 6 fixture.
- The match was staged at the Gusii Stadium on Wednesday, October 29.
- The victory marked Ingwe’s second win of the season and extended their unbeaten run to five matches, while Shabana suffered their third consecutive home defeat.
AFC Leopards came from behind to snatch a second consecutive SportPesa League 25/26 victory, edging out Shabana 2-1 at the Gusii Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.
The hosts had hoped to return to winning ways, but a late defensive lapse proved costly when James Kinyanjui delivered a powerful corner that unsettled the Shabana backline, resulting in an own goal.
The blunder condemned Shabana to a third successive home defeat.

The Kisii based outfit had initially drawn first blood just minutes into the first half through their young, lethal striker, Austine Odongo.
However, AFC Leopards’ coach Fred Ambani made impactful changes at halftime.
The shift in momentum paid off in the 72nd minute when captain Victor Omune tapped in a cross from fellow substitute Julius Masaba to equalize. Kinyanjui then ensured Ingwe extended their unbeaten run to five matches this season.
With these back-to-back wins, Ingwe have successfully revived their campaign.
The Wednesday result propels them to fourth place in the standings with nine points, just four behind log leaders Kakamega Homeboyz, who have played an extra game.
They are now level on points with third-placed Gor Mahia, who hold a superior goal difference.
Furthermore, Ingwe had gone four matches without a victory against Shabana, making this midweek fixture a successful end to that winless streak.
For Peter Okidi’s charges, this match marks a third consecutive loss and a fourth game without a win.
The team is beginning to feel the strain of injuries to key players. Having dropped to sixth place with just seven points, their position could worsen if the teams below them win their respective matches.
Meanwhile, at the Green Stadium in Kericho, Kakamega Homeboyz secured their third straight win, opening a three-point gap at the top after a 2-1 victory over APS Bomet.
The result hands the law enforcers their fourth loss of the season, leaving them anchored at the bottom of the table.
