Only five rounds have been played so far in this new era of the SportPesa League, and the competition is already intensifying, with all 18 teams having now secured their first three points.

Heading into the fifth round, a trio of clubs; AFC Leopards, APS Bomet, and Tusker FC, were the last yet to register a victory.

However, that all changed: Ingwe defeated KCB 2-1, APS Bomet mounted a comeback to win 2-1 against Kariobangi Sharks, and Tusker secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Murang’a SEAL.

Meanwhile, a victory for Kakamega Homeboyz over Ulinzi Stars saw them take control at the summit.

The weekend was capped by a major shock, as Mathare United stunned an injury-plagued Shabana with a 1-0 win at Gusii Stadium.

But could these results be achieved without standout individual performances?
